Did you guys watch Olympics Badminton Finals for Men’s Singles last night? The one that got everyone talking about, even Baskin Robins is giving out FREE Ice-cream IF Malaysia wins Gold medal. The none other than the ultimate battle between Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan (China).
Thanks to Samsung Malaysia for organising the viewing party last night at Laundry Bar, The Curve. I get to witness the match LIVE with friends, blogger friends, members of the media and the public. Together we watched and cheered out loud as a nation.

Food and drinks were provided to ensure that we have the energy to cheer and support our fellow nation in the match!
The atmosphere was awesome! It’s like watching football matches except that here we cheered and wowed every time Chong Wei scored a point and awed when Lin Dan scored.

There’s face painting too. Another way to portray our Malaysian spirit! Here, Simon is getting his face flagged. *pun intended*

Whilst I only get my hand painted.

I’m bad with coordination, so, got my hand painted upside down
Ended up I have to fist down to show the flag. LOL

Beer (Tiger) always the best mate to have while catching a game with friends.
It was an intensifying match as we kept our eyes glued to the screen. For every point Chong Wei scored, we cheered and drink. Chong Wei won the first match with 21-15. Everyone at the venue cheered, shouted and even popped the “new year” poppers! In the second match, Chong Wei loses at 10-21 to Lin Dan.
During the final match, not only Chong Wei seemed tensed from the screen, even the supporters were feeling nervous at every smash made by both Chong Wei and Lin Dan! The score was a point different at every serve!
In the end, Lin Dan ended the game with 21-19.
Chong Wei fell to the ground and cried. From the screen we can see how disappointed and sad Chong Wei was. We were too. We felt him.
Meanwhile, Lin Dan who was overjoyed, ran around the court with pride and topless. Congrats, Lin Dan! You won gold, TWICE, consecutively from the previous Beijing 2008 Olympics Games.
A buddy hug for the great game.
The saddest Silver Medalist I’ve ever seen
Dear Dato Lee Chong Wei,
Don’t be despair that you couldn’t bring back the gold medal. Chin up and celebrate your win for the Silver medal!
Your supporters from all over the world is very proud with you. You have done your best, we’ve seen it! You have improved much from the last game and despite the injury, you still strive for the best.
