Valentine’s Day Dinner @ The Ship, Damansara Utama (Uptown), Petaling Jaya

I’m glad this year’s Valentine’s Day didn’t clash with CNY. Unlike last year :( We didn’t get to celebrate our very first Valentine’s Day together because it was during CNY and I was traveling at that time and he went back to his hometown. But we weren’t alone. I celebrated with my family while he celebrated with someone else.

My Valentine 2014

“Happy Valentine’s Day @taufulou. You light the spark in my bonfire heart. Love u laaa… #takepicha” – Posted on Instagram on 13th February 2014

This Valentine’s Day was our second Valentine’s together but we only managed to celebrated it once. This year, he booked a dinner at The Ship for us and we celebrated a day earlier. To him, he said he don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day on the actual day or any day near the actual day because everything is expensive (dinner, flowers, etc) and over commercialized. But because it’s our first time celebrating Valentine’s Day together, so it’s okay. But knowing that he did celebrated  the actual day with someone else last year just broke my heart even more. A very sweet gesture from him though. He got me a bouquet of pink roses as he walked into the restaurant (ya, I arrived earlier as he was still at work).

Since it’s the eve of Valentine’s Day, the restaurant was packed with couples from all ages. You can really feel the romance from other tables.

There were Valentine set menu but he decided to go for ala carte menu because all these sets food quality not that great as they prepare in mass. Seeing that, I followed suit and ordered our individual meals.

The Ship Restaurant PJ (6)Dinner kickstart with some warm bread served with butter and we shared a bowl of mushroom soup. The mushroom soup was really below my expectation. It tasted like a bowl of diluted and seasoned over again Campbell soup =X We also have a salad each for starter.

The Ship Restaurant PJ (3)Neptune Taurus Delight @ RM50.90

He had this Neptune Taurus Delight which is a combination of tiger prawns and tenderloin fillet steak served with mushroom sauce on a sizzling plate. It smelt good and the prawns were rather fresh. Not bad.

The Ship Restaurant PJ (4) Fillet Steak @ RM44.90

I had the Fillet Steak which was lean and succulent steak charbroiled to medium rare and served with vegetables, corn on the cob, and jacket potato. A very fulfilling dinner.

He got me a Pandora bracelet (something I’ve been meaning to get). Wasn’t expecting such an expensive gift. I was feeling contented with the flowers alone because that was the first flower from him. *loved*

After receiving his present, I was reluctant to present mine to him because it was a cheapo gift…. I made him a book of Love coupons which he could claim throughout our time together. I wonder if he really liked it and not just saying that he liked it because I asked. I wonder if he will ever use them…

Overall, our dinner was alright, but the mood was slightly off. The restaurant was playing some CNY songs since it was still CNY. I really do hope we would be able to celebrate the next Valentine’s Day together again. *fingers crossed*
