The Story About My Food Blog

I’ve been blogging for more than 7 years already!

When I started blogging in August 2004, it was a blog all about myself, “all about anna“. It was like an online journal about my daily life: what I did, what I ate, who I met, anything interesting happened in school, etc. It was all text. Than, it got a bit of colours from all the self-portrait pictures (aka camwhore pictures). It was practically a noob (newbie) blog. :D

Dine with Anna

Later in May 2006, I changed my blog’s title from “all about anna” to “Dine with Anna”.  Subsequently in August 2007,  “Dine with Annna” was created. It was a change in my blogging style, from personal blog to food centric blog to a proper food blog.

I enjoy blogging more about food than anything else! I started to take more pictures of the food I’ve tried and all the eateries I’ve dined in. I learned a lot about food photography and invested in a good and reliable digital compact camera (which I brings around wherever I go). This enhances the quality of food pictures, from “Oh, this is how XXX looks like”:

This is how sushi looks like

…to “Wow! Such mouthwatering XXX!”:

Yum! mouthwatering Japanese food from Ten Ichi Japanese Restaurant, Kuching

Comments and feedbacks from friends and new friends (blogging has expanded my network) help a lot in my blogging life as they encourages me to blog even more about food. It felt great knowing that the information I shared about the food I’ve tried in various eateries benefit others in different ways.

I realised that most diners have difficulty to decide where to dine. These are the popular frequently asked questions:

  1. What to eat?
  2. Where to dine/go?
  3. Is it expensive?
  4. How’s the food?
  5. Where to go for XXX? or Where can I find XXX?
  6. etc..

[note: XXX refers to the name of food or cuisines]

Now, the answers for these questions are mostly found here in this food blog. Most of the food posts include food and drink description, prices, location and sometimes including maps, promotions (if any), mouthwatering food pictures,..

BIG bowl of soup!

..pictures of me with the food to show the portion of the food (vain in action),..

..pictures of me eating the food to show how great they are and many more.

Most of my food posts are not just about food – how they tastes like, how much, where to find it, etc;  as I sometimes would include a little side dish to go with the mains – when and how the food are enjoyed, eg. friends gatherings, cocktail party, etc. So, everyone who reads food post can experience the excitement when the food and beverages are enjoyed.

happy, fun & exciting

From time to time, I organise contests, “Dine with Annna PrizeGiveAway” just to spice things up with the readers. :P For example: Dine with Annna PrizeGiveAway

The rewards are of course food related; eg. food cash vouchers. Now, you not only read about what’s yummy and what’s not, but also stand a chance to win some yummy treats!

Within these 7 years of blogging, I’ve blogged mostly about food, food and more food.  For the love and passion towards food, I can never get bored writing about food. Afterall, I live to eat. Furthermore, there are so many eateries around in Kuala Lumpur waiting for me to dine in!

Now, with abovesaid, don’t you think “Dine with Annna” is the next Food Blog Star?
