The First High Heel Dash Race in Malaysia

A shout out to all ladies who love wearing high heels!

I love wearing high heels and it’s time to put on those heels for a good cause. There are a few ways that any women can participate for a good cause because ALL proceeds will go to charity which is The Women’s Aid Organization(WAO). The High Heel Dash is Malaysia’s first-ever high heel race, and is an awareness-raising event launched by Bloc 48 to empower the modern working woman. More than half of the funds raised will go directly towards the WAO, which needs the funds to refurbish the shelter for women who are survivors of domestic violence.

Date: 23 May 2015 (Saturday)
Time: 10am – 6pm
Venue: The Square, Publika

The High Heel Dash is pairing up with, Asia’s largest online giving community, to empower participants to go the extra mile and fundraise for the WAO.

Why Fundraise?

You’ll help provide a safe space for abused women to heal. Each RM100 will contribute to more beds, cupboards and other furniture for a growing number of more than 300 women and their children seeking refuge. The Women’s Aid Organisation has been providing shelter to abused women and children for 33 years; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The population of women seeking help from WAO has increased over the years. As the shelter is aging due to wear and tear in times of high occupancy, WAO needs aid in renovating the shelter to meet the need for more beds and to maximize the current space in order to support the increased capacity.

The High Heel Dash is supporting this initiative, and you can too – when you become a fundraiser to join the Dash! The funds you raise will make a significant impact on the maintenance of the shelter and ensures a comfortable living space for the women in need.

How to participate?

Participants can choose to pay a registration fee or get their friends to pledge a minimum amount of donations to the WAO. Singles participants, whose entry tickets cost RM150 each, will get to race for free if they manage to raise a minimum of RM300 worth of donations to the WAO. For doubles participants, the fee of RM250 will be waived if the duo manage to raise RM500 or above. dashers will receive goodie bags worth RM500 and RM800 respectively; and be eligible to dash 50m in high heels to win attractive prizes.
