The Star Sarawak Edition was officially launched by YB Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Johari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Sarawak, representing YAB Chief Minister of Sarawak. YB was accompanied by The Star’s Executive Deputy Chairman Dato’ Clement Hii, Datin Linda Ngiam, Mr Ng Beng Lye, Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai and Mr. Rajah during the launching.

The event started with registration of invited guests and members of the media. The invited guests were mostly from business organisations and associations. I went over to register as a Media. :3

While waiting for the arrival of the VVIPs, guests were seated and entertained by the Sarawak Cultural Village’s ethno-fusion band, Tuku Kame.

YB expressed his impression on The Star Sarawak Edition during his speech, “I was impressed to see The Star at my breakfast table this morning. Normally we have to wait till about 1pm for the paper, but today it came together with the other papers at 7.30am.”

Liquid

Last Saturday was Liquid’s poolside opening party and I was there for it. The earlier private session was 7pm, and the party was opened to the public at 8.30pm.

It was a poolside theme party and the theme for that evening was “North Pole”. Hence, the dresscode was white and NO, we didn’t see anyone dressed in white bikini or white robe (acting polar bear).

Not many dressed up for the party, but we did. I mean, what’s the fun of a theme party without dressing up for it, right?

During the private session, guests were pampered with generous free flow of cocktail food and drinks.  I enjoyed this session the most, well, it is obviously at my best interest. There were free flow of WINE and food!

Love the wine they served. It’s easy drinking and not too dry and the after taste is sweet. Everyone enjoyed themselves and happy. Alcohol makes people happy. LOL

Cocktail finger food

There were three varieties of finger food and I’m putting my guesses on what they’re called:

My guess: Nachos with sour cream

The round chip tastes like nachos with sour cream on top. Crispy and yummy!

My guess: Chicken Tandoori with Sour Cream and Mint Leaf

It certainly looks like Chicken Tandoori with sour cream and mint leave. I may be wrong. Nonetheless, it superb! Had a few servings of this =X

Among all the three finger food, I favour this Salmon shot the most.  I had lotsa shots of salmon.

There’s this big Dewar’s balloon by the poolside and I tried to pull it down but it was very heavy! It made me feel like floating up in the air when I slowly released it. It’s like UP is going to happen right here at that moment!

By the way, there’s an opening special for a bottle of 12 years old Dewar’s whiskey. Check it out.

The pool was decorated with polystyrene ice bergs. The surroundings were decorated with white balloons, penguins and they even played the movie, Happy Feet at the white all via projector. If only there were real polar bears or penguins swimming in the pool >:]

Overall, Liquid is a nice place to hangout and chill with friends. It’s not smokey and best of all, I didn’t get a single mosquito bite throughout the night! The ambiance and settings are great for friends to catch up, chit chat, gossiping networking, business meet ups,  and etc..

Since Christmas is just around the corner, and we were all dressed in white, we looked like  a choir group for  Christmas caroling especially in group pichas. Pure and angelic. Tahaaa!

The evening did not end just like that. We took lots and lots of pichas and they are all so memorable. Of course we didn’t go home empty handed. Santa Alicia distributed door gifts before we left for our late supper.

My 9th September 2009 (09-09-09) was truly a looooooooooooooooong day. A very jiu jiu jiu (999 in mandarin which also meant long long long) day. From 9am till 5.30pm, I was a work.

For lunch, I went to Taiwan Siou Jou, Pandungan Road, for lunch. I ordered the Bubble Green Tea and got this:

Absolutely GREEN! It was too sweet for my liking and it does not taste anything like green tea. It’s just green sugar flavoured drink. @.@!!!

After work, I rushed home, showered and dinnered. Packed my books and head over to college for class.

MBO Cinema first day opening

Later that night, I went to MBO Cinema for movies with my mum and bro. I promised to bring them for movies on the first day of the opening.

We went to watch Final Destination. I rate it 8.5/10. It’s so KINTIO!!! So happening yet GORY! I can barely sit calmly. Every scene is just so….WAH! Simply must watch!

Planned with friends to go to Kuching Festival first day of opening via Plurk. Got A380 by YienYien and Steve during Kuching Festival. Luckily, Pazuzu and Stephen were making their way to Kuching Festival after their foot massage. Sat by the balloon stall till the end of the night. Foosi and friends dropped by and joined us. ahlost, TV and ting joined us after their BOL session.

Phew.. I completed the outstanding of July for Project 365. What’s the date today? OMG!! August 14th!! Grr…  2 weeks outstanding for Project 365 for August. Perhaps this weekend then.

There were so many people. People from all sorts of organizations, associations, public and me. I met ahlost’s brothers, John and Paul there as well. They dressed up so smartly! Batik weiii… If only I took picha with them, it would be a great shot for my Project 365.

Today’s the official opening ceremony of Crown Hair Studio. The salon is located behind Parkson, opposite the “red shop” selling CDs.

They have various packages. One of them, which I think is the utmost exclusive one is the RM50 Hair Wash package for the whole month. Hair wash for the whole month for just RM50!! Now, why do I bother buying shampoo and wash my own hair at home? *piff piff* Somemore, they will blow my hair “pong pong” and “sui sui“.

Hair cut for ladies is RM22 (for all hair length).

Hair cut for gents is RM18.

Hair coloring/perming….etc with chemicals is RM100*

Additional charges for extra; e.g. highlighting.

Products: Schwarzkopf, Joico, Ezo and etc..

All chemicals and products are well known brands. I must say, it’s worth every cents you’re paying.

Now, anyone want to join me for a month date in the salon for hair wash?

It started to jam at the 3rd mile flyover and we didn’t know how bad the jam would get and if we were cycling, we could get there within seconds. Jimmy parked his car at the 3rd Exchange and we walked across the road towards Boulevard. We were faster than cars! Miaahahhaahahahaha…

First thing we saw when we’re near Boulevard. This is going towards the parking. If you don’t want to park inside Boulevard, there are also some other alternatives:

You can also park by the roadside and help close a lane for the traffic. That would very much help the traffic to jam. Smart parkers!

When we got inside, the household departmental store was on our left and the hypermarket on our right. For the opening, there were Maggi, Nestle and Boh giving free drinks/food for sampling and at the same time make sales.

Why hesitate to grab one? It’s free after all. Miahahaahahhaaha..

You can get your own caricature by En. Saiful when you purchase in the hypermarket at some certain amount.

Koko Crunch, Yoco and Chipsmore mascots. We were able to take pictures with Koko Crunch and Yoco except for Chipsmore. If you’d like to take picture with Chipsmore, you need to buy 3 packets of Chipsmore!

When you’re inside, you’re in a total different world. The world where you never get out empty handed!! Here, you can see the size of this mall! The interior is simple and WHITE! The inside is HUGE!! Biggest MALL in Kuching.

We (Angel, Uncle Jong, Irene, Jimmy and I) met up with Allen in the mall to start our venture.

Also met up with Angel, Yomi and Jon while exploring the mall.

We went to the TOILET for *ahem* inspection. Clean (for now) and spacious.

Yesterday was M10 Commercial Centre Official Opening. Congrats Gong Xi Gong Xi, Ku Chang!

Ten One is located at 10th Mile. The official opening was very happening orh.. There were so millions of colourful BALLOONS!! So many of them! Got lion dance somemore. This is for good luck and prosperity to the business and also to Meriahkan the event.
