On our way, we saw this florist stall. There were lots of roses, so Yien and I stopped by and bought Rose a Rose (RM1.50 SO CHEAP!). Even though Rose said, “no need” or “nevermind”, but I think lah, she must be shouting with joy hoping for a bouquet of roses. Bahahahahahahhaa…

Oh dem.. I miss having you girls here in KL. So miss everyone back home

Now that I’m in KL, I rarely see an authentic Japanese Restaurant! Most of the Japanese Restaurants here are either a branch or a franchise. Of the many famous Japanese Restaurants seen here are none other than Sushi King, Sakae Sushi and Sushi Zanmai (and of course there are more, but just to name a few).

Anyway, I met up with Yomi and Vivian who have been in KL working for quite some time already. Wow.. It’s been ages since I last seen them. It’s like a mini reunion in KL, but in different style. We met up at IKEA and then continued shopping at The Curve. A very casual way to catch up with each other. Then, we went to Sakae Sushi for dinner.

Unfortunately, only after she submitted the form, then she found out that under the small prints, it was written that this Sakae card is for members to accumulate $$ for future rebates. Duuuuuuuu…

And little did we know that she had dinner at Sakae Sushi, Subang and got her membership there. LOL! Then, she joined us dinner at Sakae Sushi again the next day!

Sakae Sushi Ocha

You can also order your drinks from the LCD. However, once you are seated, the waiter/waitress will service you with the menu and get your drinks order. We ordered Ocha (green tea) and given 4 glasses and 4 green tea bags.

DIY hot water refill

At each table, there is this hot water tap for you to fill up your cup. However, the one problem we faced with the water tap is that;

1. the cup can’t sit straight up below the tap, so you had to tilt the cup.
2. when we were filling up the cups, the hot water tends to flow out of nowhere from the tap! :L

Comparing with Sushi King, handrolls here are slightly more expensive (like 90cents more) but more filled and more varieties!

My BIB number is 80189 and compared with Rose and Yien’s BIB, the variance between our BIB is so faaaaaaaaar away!

PLUS, due to the stoooopid system error, they didn’t even print my name on the BIB. So geram!

Everyone slept very early the night before the run, approximately 11pm!! I, on the other hand, had problem sleeping and stayed up all night. T______________T

We got up at 4.30am and got ready.

We were supposed to leave before 5.30am but camwhored too much that we had to miss breakfast with JJ, Forrest, Shirley and Rachel. Met up with them at Dataran Merdeka instead.

We managed to drop by 7-eleven and grabbed some sandwiches and hot drinks for breakfast. It’s not advisable to run with an empty stomach.

D-tag on shoes

We had to put on the D-tag on our shoe laces so that the timer can trace us during the start and end of the race and accumulate our running time. Very high tech!

We had to walk from the parking to Dataran Merdeka. It was like a warm up session for us. When we arrived Dataran Merdeka, I was very impressed with the whole event! It’s so happening. It’s so crowded. Best of all, we got FREE Power Bar and Nose strip before our run.

All credits to Hikaru who ran with me. Otherwise, I don’t know if I can complete the run within the time limit of 90 minutes to entitle for the SCKLM 2010 certificate! Glad he was there when I almost gave up for the run. He pushed me forward, motivated and supported me to keep running till the finishing line. T___________T This is not just 10km of physical  run, but a mental challenge to keep running and going forward!

We went to Life Cafe, Brighton Square for our late dinner/supper.

Earth Hour at Life Cafe

When we arrived, it was very romantic inside the Life Cafe. Seems like the Life Cafe is also participating in the Earth Hour “Shut it Down”. They switched off the lights and only the lantern lights were switched on. The lantern lights were really dim and we can barely read a single letter from the menu. Had to use our mobile phone’s torch light to read the menu and check on the order form.

Sushi Kin bill

Eeeeeeee… I’ve been dining in Sushi King for so long and only now I realized that it is registered under Sushi Kin Sdn Bhd, KIN without the G.

Before we start grabbing sushi and stuffing ourselves with rice, Kerbau asked how many plates of sushi we had on Day 1. I told him that four of us (ahlost, dys, JF and I) had 27 plates. Then, he smirked and set a new target for Day 2. He said that in order to beat Day 1’s record, each of us must eat 10 plates (siaw one), so we can get total of 40 plates! Anyway, here’s the stats of plates end of the night:

Kerbau – 11 plates
Steve – 10 plates
Yien – 6 plates
Annna – 6 plates

We were short of 7 plates to reach the target. LOL.. Siaw man.. Imagine I eat 10 plates! Gotta level up like gila (mad) later *duuuuuuu*

Anyway, in total we had 49 plates including the take away sushi. Tapaoed (take away) some Salmon sushi and Unagi sushi for ahlost and JF since they were having class and had to skip the Day 2 Sushithon. huhuhu..

The night before benben left for OZ, which was like 10 days ago, ahlost, yienyien, JF, Stevo and I planned to have yumcha session at Grand Margherita after our work out at Level Up Fitness.

While waiting for ahlost and JF to arrive, Yien, Steve and I went to check out the lounge, and the Wine & Cheese buffet poster (which was ongoing in March 2010 only).

Our initial plan was to try out the newly renovated coffee house. Well, the coffee house isn’t very coffee house-like, as it shares the ala carte menu and buffet there. So, it was not an ideal yumcha spot for us.

The black forest cake is superb! It consist of three layers of cake and mousse.  Topped with fresh cream (notfatteningnotfatteningnotfattening). The chocolate wrapping around the cake is actually dark chocolate! Damn nais can! And oh my lovely fav cherries <3 there were so many of them on the cake <3<3<3

December 26, 2009, the Boxing Day, one day adventure, 5 venues, 4 posts.

It all started with me alone at Level Up Fitness (LUF) and Yien joined me during my cardio session. Gladys joined us for a drink at Atok Kopitiam after our LUF session. Then, we proceeded to KBOX 11 for karaoke, but detoured to Cafe Ch@t because there were no rooms for us.  Later that evening, ahlost, JF, Frankie, and Mike joined in.

At first, I thought that it is a franchise cafe but it is local. The coffee beans are imported from Indonesia and they do supply coffee powder and coffee bean apart from just serving coffee to customers in cups.

The environment is really suitable for those who love to gossip over a cup of coffee enjoys coffee and chit chat with friends, business meet ups and group gathering.

It is also suitable for couple to pak toh (dating). To some people, like me, it is also a suitable place to study. Well, the songs they played are soft and not that loud and noisy.

My first visit here was with my classmate. We went there for revision since the college’s library was not opened during a WEEKDAY.

Mocha Latte

My classmate, Lydia is a mocha freak! When we go to IpohTown Kopitiam, she would order the white coffee mocha. When we were in Fresh Cup, she ordered the Mocha Latte.

Lydia enjoyed the mocha latte here. She said that the mocha itself is sweet enough from the chocolate taste.

Machiato Latte

I had the Machiato Latte. I find it too much milk for my liking and the coffee taste is very much covered by the milk. For those who prefer more kick of coffee, I recommend that you request for an extra shot for this.

Cappuccino Cake

On my first visit, I got a free complimentary Cappuccino Cake. Many thanks to Fresh Cup Coffee.

My second visit was with the gang (some couldn’t make it due to other commitments).

Caramel Brandy Coffee

The Caramel Brandy Coffee is very unique and my favourite among all they have in their menu. The coffee has a twist of brandy and sweet caramel taste.  A great combination and it is simply superb!

Apart from just coffee, they do serve ice coffee, ice lattes, etc ice ice babeh… They also have smoothies.

All the drinks, be it hot or cold, they range from RM9 – RM15. It’s reasonably priced as the drinks come in big cups and glasses. Plus, the ambiance is simple and cozy. Furthermore, they have magazines and board games for you and I to occupy ourselves while enjoying a Fresh Cup of Coffee.

Liquid

Last Saturday was Liquid’s poolside opening party and I was there for it. The earlier private session was 7pm, and the party was opened to the public at 8.30pm.

It was a poolside theme party and the theme for that evening was “North Pole”. Hence, the dresscode was white and NO, we didn’t see anyone dressed in white bikini or white robe (acting polar bear).

Not many dressed up for the party, but we did. I mean, what’s the fun of a theme party without dressing up for it, right?

During the private session, guests were pampered with generous free flow of cocktail food and drinks.  I enjoyed this session the most, well, it is obviously at my best interest. There were free flow of WINE and food!

Free flow of wine, beer and softdrinks. The boys enjoyed their beer, the girls enjoyed their wine.

Love the wine they served. It’s easy drinking and not too dry and the after taste is sweet. Everyone enjoyed themselves and happy. Alcohol makes people happy. LOL

Cocktail finger food

There were three varieties of finger food and I’m putting my guesses on what they’re called:

My guess: Nachos with sour cream

The round chip tastes like nachos with sour cream on top. Crispy and yummy!

My guess: Chicken Tandoori with Sour Cream and Mint Leaf

It certainly looks like Chicken Tandoori with sour cream and mint leave. I may be wrong. Nonetheless, it superb! Had a few servings of this =X

Salmon Shot

Among all the three finger food, I favour this Salmon shot the most.  I had lotsa shots of salmon.

There’s this big Dewar’s balloon by the poolside and I tried to pull it down but it was very heavy! It made me feel like floating up in the air when I slowly released it. It’s like UP is going to happen right here at that moment!

By the way, there’s an opening special for a bottle of 12 years old Dewar’s whiskey. Check it out.

The pool was decorated with polystyrene ice bergs. The surroundings were decorated with white balloons, penguins and they even played the movie, Happy Feet at the white all via projector. If only there were real polar bears or penguins swimming in the pool >:]

Overall, Liquid is a nice place to hangout and chill with friends. It’s not smokey and best of all, I didn’t get a single mosquito bite throughout the night! The ambiance and settings are great for friends to catch up, chit chat, gossiping networking, business meet ups,  and etc..

Since Christmas is just around the corner, and we were all dressed in white, we looked like  a choir group for  Christmas caroling especially in group pichas. Pure and angelic. Tahaaa!

The evening did not end just like that. We took lots and lots of pichas and they are all so memorable. Of course we didn’t go home empty handed. Santa Alicia distributed door gifts before we left for our late supper.
