It may be pricey, RM10 for 6 pieces of Durian Pancakes. But it’s a worthy investment for sudden durian cravings.

The outer layer is actually pancake. The real deal is INSIDE the pancake. The inside of the Durian pancake consists of durian cream. Well, when you see the word cream, you probably think that, “Yea, they use durian flavourings for the taste.”

Look at that creamy and thick yellow flesh of REAL durian! What makes the durian pancake is the yellow pancake wrapped around the cream and Durian like a “puff”. RM10 for 6 cold rich and creamy durian pancakes, I’d say it’s worth every cent. And in case I have sudden durian cravings, I know where the cure is :3

Snowflake - Taiwanese Dessert Secrets

Snowflake is a Taiwanese dessert kiosk-like located at the first floor of Pavilion. Heard that it’s an expansion branch. The main Snowflake is located somewhere in SS15. Correct me if I’m wrong.

When you pay for your order, you will be given this “UFO” beeper. When your desserts are ready, the beeper would light and beeps. Gotta return the beeper when collecting your Tong Shuet. Very cool and innovative way of Queue.

Snowflake Bestseller & Japan! combo

Snowflake desserts consist of flavoured snow ice with flavoured Taroballs (no idea what it is  but tasted like Tang Yuan – glutinous rice ball) with sweet toppings. The serving is HUGE! I didn’t know that the portion would be so big and it is recommended for 2 pax sharing.

Memorable Series: Japan! Combo @ RM6.50

Hikaru made his decision pretty fast with Snowflake Memorable Series: Japan! Combo. It is very Japan with green bean taroballs and redbean toppings.

Tasted pretty awkward to me. The taroballs are gummy and chewy, whereas the redbeans are very soft. Thus, the combination in mouth felt funny………………………………………..to me.

As for me, it took me quite a while to decide which Tong Shuet to order. There were so much to choose from the menu and I decided to try their Bestseller: Grass Jelly + Grass Jelly Ice + Taroballs + Creamer.

The grass jelly dessert with creamer added on is so gooooooooooood! The combination may sounds weird but it tasted really good! Made the dessert creamier.

Do you know that the word “dessert” is from the French “desservie”, meaning “de-serve” or in other words, “clear the table”.

Dessert is normally served at the end of the meal. Normally, fruits or sweet food, such as Tong Shui (sweet dessert soup) are served as dessert.

Well, speaking about dessert, there is this place located in Precint 88, Jalan Song, called “Dessert Paradise” which serves all types of sweet food, hot and cold.

Been there a couple of times and the followings are compilation of my many visits there trying out different items from the menu :3

Fruity Dessert

Fruits are served in a big bowl with shaved ice. Papaya, dragon fruit, etc..are served with their skin on and you get a whole lot of scooping fun to eat it.

Papaya with Lemon mousse and Ice Cream @ RM5

Recommended! They serve you half a papaya with lemon mousse (which is more like a pudding) inside, topped with ice-cream and 2 mini balls of watermelon. Definitely a mouth watering dessert PLUS papaya is good for ahem.

Dragon Fruit with Ice cream @ RM5.50

This dragon fruit setting is similar with the papaya. Really worth your Ringgit and Sen (if I’m not mistaken, it costs approximately RM2.50 for one WHITE dragon fruit in the market, plus, this is RED dragon fruit).

Popular Dessert

There is this popular and most ordered item from the menu, Summer Mago with Ice-Cream. Here are the 3 pichas of Summer Mago from different time of makan visits:

The base is shaved ice with milk and topped with honey dew flavoured ice-cream, decorated with melons (watermelon balls and honey dew cutlets) and black & white pearls. Oh, and also a piece of Wise Cottage Fries Tomato flavour. Very unique!

Don’t ask me what Mago is because I have no idea. =x It is either mango with typo error or that it is something MAGO in the dessert. LOL

Someone ordered this, I think it’s one of the HKC (Hong Kong Chick), Joanne – if I’m not mistaken. Looks promisingly good. I will try this on my next visit.

Ching Tang with Guilinggao @ RM4.50

This Guilinggao I highly don’t recommend unless you love chlorine taste. =X The guilinggao is homemade and I believe they use pipe water without filtering it! Thus, it has the very strong chlorine taste in it. Very Super Oh My Guilinggao lah..

Although the guilinggao tasted like swimming pool, the sidekicks: barley and dried longan are yummy.

Perhaps, order Ching Tang Guilinggao mai Guilinggao. Just like a friend of mine who likes to eat Taugeh kuehtiaw without Taugeh. =_________=!!

Soupy Dessert

There are several types of soupy dessert. Among them, there’s pamelo and mango soup, something like that (always out of stock one), glutinous rice ball, and this honey dew soup dessert.

It looks kinda crappy, and tastewise….so so and quite geli also. It’s just a scoop of honey dew ice-cream with honey cutlets, served in a pool of milk. =x

THE SERVICE

Not that I want to complain about the service BUT just to share with you all my superior experience from my last visit in Dessert Paradise.

During my last visit, which was 2 weeks ago, they changed to new menu (as seen above picha #1). There were several changes from the old menu, eg. price increase and new business hours.

Anyway, I thought that since it’s the new menu they might add new items in the menu, so, I was looking forward to try out something new lah. Flip from page 1 till last page, flip back, flip 10000000000 times. Still undecided on what to order (no new items in the NEW menu lah). So, in the end, I ordered the papaya dessert. piff..

Japanese Yam Paste with Ice cream @ RM5

I was waiting to be served with the orange thing in a bowl of shaved ice, but instead, I got this bowl of purple stuff. SuperWahLao… The uncle must have changedashowtheychangedthemenu misheard my order.

Long story cut short, I didn’t bother to make an issue out of it. Anyway, I never tried this purple stuff.

My friends, I’m not a purple yam person. The only favourable yam food I take is the steamed or boiled Sibu mini yams. Any other yam food, be it yam basket mixed veggie, or yam fish head, or yam crackers, yam ice-cream, you name it. I NO LIKE one.

Coconut ice cream and almond

This is Japanese Yam Paste with COCONUT ice-cream and almond. It is not bad but a bit too sweet for my liking. The yam paste texture is like mushroom cream soup. It is served cold. Plus, the coconut ice-cream in here is like santan to those sweet soup dessert. So, overall, this is not bad lah.

Happy Juice

They serve happy juice here. Like super happy juice!

Test Tube @ RM3.50 each tube

Previously, during our meet up with the HKC and Hikaru, we had like 30 over test tubes, each tube was RM3. Now, in the new menu, the price increased to RM3.50. Ummm, is it because of us?

Happy Juice + 7up

The test tube is a mixture of liquor and sprite/7up. Each tube is equivalent to a shot/mouthful. I think we need to order at least 50 tubes to get our Benben drunk. Super terror drinker.

So, yea, now you know the surface of the buffet – price, venue and validity. Now, I’d like to share the tummyfacts (C) of the buffet. My Ramadhan experience at BCCK.

Food galore

Upon entering, we were greeted by this huge buffet table filled with lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of food! Oh, what great joy~

There is a buffet table at every side and corner of the hall. There’s something for you to chew wherever you turn your head! *licks upper lip*

In case eating is boring, there are 2 projectors on the wall to entertain you since there’s no TV in there. LOL!! Well, these projectors are not there to just entertain you but also informative while you chew. There are quotes on the Ramadhan projected throughout the night.

There are a wide range of food! From the greens of salad and veggies to the whites of chicken, fish and squids to the reds of lamb and beef and etc.. In short, just fast the whole day and feed your tank here. Oh yes, from local delicacies up to the western and eastern cuisines! All lined up on the table waiting for you to dig in.

The menu changes everyday. This means, everyday there are different dishes! So, if you dine here everyday, you will never get bored of the food. But wait! I haven’t touch on the ultimate part of the buffet. Here’s some to show how good the food at the buffet can be:

Boiled mussels

The time I was dining there, there were various serving style for mussels – boiled, grilled and fried. In the second teaser post, I showed off the mussels and prawns picha. Wait till you see the GRILLED MUSSELS TOPPED WITH CHEESE!

And if you think that’s all they do best with the mussels, you’re not quite there yet. They even have fried chilli mussels to spice up our tastebud.

Some of the food served are pretty hot and spiceh. It’s spiciness is up to my liking as I love spicy food. Huuuhaaa!! Bring it on babeh~! Those who are not spicy food lover, fret not, there are other more food than what your tummy can take.

The roasted lamb is superb! The meat is so tender and juicy. Oh…Succulent… Dang.. How I wish I could bring the whole lamb home. I can have Lamb sandwich for breakfast and Lamb Shawarma for lunch and and lamb skewers as snacks!

There are like a hundred and one (perhaps more) food to pick from! Get to taste the wonders of various cuisine in one hall – International style buffet. There are just too many pichas of the food, so, I compiled them into a slide:

The dessert was simply extrafulfilling! As if all the food was not enough, we just can’t stop stuffing more food into our mouth. Simply must try every single one they have. LOL!!

Sweet and creamy on the outside, sweet and juicy on the inside. Oooohhlalaa~~

To ease the food down your throat, there are of course free flow of ice water.

BUT, that’s not all. There are a range of cold sweet drinks to choose from. From the popular Air Bandung to the thirst quenching Lime Juice to cooling Sugar Cane to the local favourite Cincau C and not my favourite drink Soya Bean. I can’t promise that you’ll get the drinks you see from here as they change everyday. That way, you are rest assured that food and drinks are fresh maaaa..

After all the feasting and the amount of food we savoured, it’s time for a cup of good brewed coffee for better digestion.

Anyway, back to the Cempedak Ice-Cream, it was so Gooooooooooood! So rich in flavour and the taste is really exactly the same as eating a cempedak minus the texture. I wish they had Durian!!

P/S: May our next gatherings be at Wrapped. I want to have another serving of this ice-cream again. Slurps~

For desserts, I made Vanilla Ice-cream on Doraemon Pancake topped with Hershey Chocolate Syrup. Earlier during the day, Gladys made the Doraemon pancakes using her new Doraemon shaped pan. The making of pancake, will and hopefully be in another post (planning to hog her kitchen with her one day to make pancake).

We started wining (wine drinking) when we started dinnering. Some aunties didn’t make it for the dinner due to hashing. All in all only 5 drinkers that night and we managed to open up 7 bottles of wine. Syabas!

Among the 7 bottles, I love the Yellow Tail the most! Chateau Paloumey second (needs breathing but still a good wine I like). The other uncle brought the Yellow Tail and Penfold.

My current favourite wine

It does not need breathing upon opening as it is a matured wine. It is smooth and easy to drink. Sweet end and not sourish. Definitely looking forward to more of this in future.

Only Wine & Liquor (Jalan Tun Jugah) sells it. There are other Yellow Tail wine, categorized in different color labels. The differences are the types of grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and blend of grapes.

Unc is spoiling us with good wines. Unc even said that I’ve improved. As I could tell how each wine differs. Weee..

After each type of wine, the glass needs to be wash and dried before pouring the new wine. Then, you can fully taste the new wine and differentiate from the previous one.

How wonderful it is if there’s wine tasting course in Kuching. From there, I could learn more and get to taste all types of wine.

Really miss having this, minus the purpleness. Used to have this almost all the time when me and my brother were at our grands. Makes me miss grandma’s cooking

Last night I had dinner with Angel and AhGe.

Friends since primary (angel) and high school (ahge). After so long, we finally had the chance to sit down for dinner together. Yomi missed it tho. No worries, we’ll arrange another meet up again yea!

I had Mr. Ho’s Special Prawn Pasta….again. Teehee.. It’s very nice. HOWEVER, they no longer server tobasco sauce! If you like to have that to go with your food, you need to buy a bottle (or bring a bottle from home). Instead, the captain offered spicy mustard which tasted like wasabi. -_______-|||

For dessert, I ordered a slice of Chocolate Truffle Cake. It’s partial chocolate cake and chocolate moose. It’s pretty good. With almond slices and bits on top.

Personally, I think the grapes and marshmallows are too little for a set of fondue. Don’t you think?

It was a great evening with you both just catching up, chit chat and sharing opinions and thoughts. Although the evening was just a shortwhile, it was worthwhile.

After the short briefing, we were invited to some refreshments. The moment I’ve been waiting for. Why?

Because the food looks so damn good!

Even though in Borneo Highlands Resort, they only serve vegetarian, here in the showroom, we have chicken! Miahahahaa…

1. Strawberry Cream Tart – VERY DELICIOUS!! Love the strawberry! It’s not sour but very sweet!! Maybe it’s from the Highland. Hahaha.. The pastry is very fine and soft.
2. Mango Chicken Salad – My GOSH!! It tasted like roasted chicken (YUMMY) and the mangoes.. One of the best!
3. Turkey Sandwich – This turkey sandwich is stuffed with thick turkey meat, ALFAFA, black dates, lettuce and tomato. Remember Margaret from Phua Chu Kang who loves Alfafa sandwich? The show made Alfafa seems so yucky. In fact, Alfafa is refreshing and tasteless.
   

   

4. Bread Puding – This is the first time I tried this. BREAD PUDING!! My Goodness.. Who invented this? On the first spoon it is still bearable, on the next spoon, I got disgusted by it already. @.@~~!!
5. Chocolate Almond Cookie – I love this very much. The sweet creamy chocolate coating the crispy biscuit. Inside the biscuit sits the golden almond.
6. Chocolate Almond Cake – One of the best cake I’ve ever had. Not too sweet and not too dry. The creamy rich chocolate on the cake makes the cake heavenly.
7. Melting Moments – Need me describe it? Just melts away in your mouth~ Sweet and delegate..
8. Ham Sandwich – Thin slice of chicken ham, cucumber, tomato and cheese spread. Still the turkey sandwich wins the day.
9. Wedges – The wedges were soggy and cold. How sad.. But it’s still taste delicious, would be better if they’re crispy and hot. Slurps slurps~ Reminds me of KFC’s wedges… ~~

We were really pampered with great healthy food, healthy drink, healthy environment, healthy talks and of course, we are expected to do healthy sales (high sales) on their healthy products (resort).

Having refreshments (sometimes we were invited to cocktails) as such will be the only thing I’ll miss most for this job! I’m sure my future job (something related to my studies) would promise a better life, pay (kaching kaching) and FOOD. Wuekekekekeke…

I saw this Magnolia Gelazia sometime in July and only today I got the time and memory to blog about it. Kekekeke..

Saw it at 100% Discount Store, Ang Cheng Ho road. Selling at RM9.90. I didn’t buy it because it’s Strawberry flavour. I don’t like fake strawberry flavourings. Yerks.. I like fresh Strawberries.. Yeah Yeah.. I heard that strawberries in Australia are cheap. *Hinting Si Ehon* xDD

Ehon and AhGe both ordered Passion Fruit Juice, while I ordered Guava Juice. I wanted Peach Juice but it was not available. =( Anyway, my Guava Juice turned out to be Passion Fruit. Swt…

When my drink was served, I looked at it, then looked at Ehon and Ahge’s, then mine again. Same colour orh.. *Sip Sip* Tasted like Olen.. *Sip Sip* AhGe’s Tastes the same. Then AhGe and Ehon *Sip Sip* mine. Sah Confirm not Guava Juice, it was the same as theirs, Passion Fruit Juice @ RM5. Do I look like I need more PASSION?

Cakes:

Ehon’s Triple Chocolate Cheese Cake @ RM9.50. The cake is served in a Square plate with cocoa powder sprinkled around it as decoration. The very bottom of the cake is Chocolate crust is very thin and you don’t get full just by eating the crust. The cake is very cheesey creamy and very rich.

Angel’s Baked Chocolate Cheese Cake @ RM7.95 is very very good. I must say as a chocolate lover, I LAFU this cake very much. The rich-chocolatey-cheesy-moosey-ness of the cake melts smoothly in your mouth and after each bite, you’d seek for more. Ish geram.. Craving for one right now. =/

Sam’s Coco Napoleon @ RM10.50 has few layers or different chockie tastes. According to Sam, the second layer tasted like Ferrero Roche. So, I “Go Go Gadget hand” went over to grab a small bite of her cake. Indeed it tasted like Ferrero Roche. Simply because it’s Hazelty.

My New York Cheese Cake @ RM7.95 is very very rich and cheesy. It’s so cheesy that I was full after 3/4 of the cake. Felt a bit gelik after that. The top layer is Lemon Glaze which gives a little sour-zesty-ness to the cheese cake. I would prefer a spoonful of fruit parfait along the cheese cake. At least, you won’t feel so gelik.

AhGe’s Mushroom Pasta @ RM 17.50, which looked like Spaghetti Carbonara, just more diluted and not as creamy. It has 5 types of mushroom in it. From Button mushroom to Clam mushroom.
