Emcees of the night: Karen and Season

After introducing themselves, they continue on with the objective of the event and highlighting the programs for the night.

The Opening Dance was a hiphop dance performed by Soulz. The video of it is divided into three parts:

There’s the third part which I tried upload, failed three times on Vimeo. Forget about Youtube, it doesn’t accept MP4. Will be trying again on Vimeo.

After the dance, was the opening song, Heal The World, sung by  Edwin, Chien Chien, Peterus and Andy.

Thanks to Edwin for getting us the exclusive passes to unlimited access in the hall. We were able to capture the best angles and views of the night while we still can. lol..

Many thanks to Edwin and Frederick (Techno Expo) for extending the invitation to us and having us over for the event. Even though it’s an open event, still want to thank them for organizing such a big event! Otherwise, we where got chance to play around in the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

So, how many of you went for the exhibition? How many went for the charity concert? How many went for both? I went for 3 of it – Went to check out the exhibition, cheered at the charity concert and even ate there!

How do you find the exhibition and concert?

The exhibition was very educational. Unfortunately, when I was roaming around at the garbage enzyme booth, the person in charge of that particularly booth was not around because it was already pass 7pm, in which it’s the end of the exhibition for the day. I didn’t know that they were giving away a bottle of garbage enzyme!! My colleague went in the afternoon and got herself a bottle of free enzyme.

What happened if you get hungry there?

They have caterings near the hall and in between the exhibition. Friendly staff at the food counter.

Since we went there in the evening (roughly 6pm), some manage to have dinner before going over, I for one didn’t. So, luckily they have food in the centre. Teehee..

Mee Goreng @ RM6.50

Food and drinks are slightly pricier but still affordable – as expected. A can of softdrink is priced at RM3.00. The food was not bad. Looking forward to their restaurant

What about the concert?

The concert was great. Especially when you have your friends hanging around with you. Spent most of our time in front of the stage! Lots of stories to tell, but I don’t know where to begin!! lol

Anyway, I’m dividing the event into several parts to avoid heavy loading and extreme long post for it.

Before entering the hall for the concert, we took picha a LOT outside. Here are some pichas from my phone and the rest are taken from facebook uploaded by the rest. Leech mode. Ngiahahahha..

We were suppose to be leaves for the sunflower. Said it before snapping, but end up only me leafing there. They pranked me. piff!!

One thing about BCCK, it’s damn cold inside!! I was practically freezing throughout the whole night. So we need to exercise to keep ourselves warm:

Group Jump before event started

This is one of my favourite picha of the night! The group jump. Thanks to TV for the picha. After the group jump, we went into the hall.

Since ahlost was carrying two DSLR, which looked heavier than her, I offered to help her carry one of them. Then, Foosi sempat snap this for me. Kekekekeke.. Feel so pro cam wei~ Even though it was ujst for 15 minutes. LOL!!

The event didn’t start on the dot, so, we berpichas. Outside the hall, it was cold. Inside, it was freezing! It’s like a huge fridge. My first time attending a concert without flowing a single sweat! LOL!!

We were first told to sit on the first row, left wing of the seatings. But since we have the access to the “cage” (the fencing around the stage mainly for photographers with TAG), we went over for test shots before the event started.

Gerald snapped this while everyone was busy minding their own business in the “cage”. While the DSLRes were taking few test shots to get the right settings, I was busy taking pichas of the surrounding and you can see from this picha, dys and yien busy chit chatting there. tsktsktsk..

My digicam is not back yet, so that night I took pichas and videos using my few weeks old phone. Guess what, it died on me in the mid of the show. !@#%^$*!!!

Among the bands, artists and performers performing tonight (in no particular order) are MIX, Passive Fire, Guru, Orion Burn, Sharon Lugun, Mayze, Dream Machine, CMC, Ayandha Zhang, United Kids Of Oi, Khai, Dyerbreed, Mars & Venus, and Visualise.

There’s also fashion show by the Breeze Model wearing LKW’s design.

Alex Wong of SingleTrackMind (STM)

Our very own well known local band that made big in the States is Alex Wong. His song was used as the theme song in the movie.

AMS

Guest band all the way from Hong Kong, AMS. Their fashion and style is different from us and they’re pretty cool. One of the best band I enjoyed that evening. Again, where can I get their CD?

Swing Habit

Swing Habit had the biggest respond from the audience as though they came to watch them perform only. Hahaha.. Die hard rocker fans!

Lang

Another guest band from KL, Lang. They too had responds from the audience, more like the other band members.

Well, I haven’t get the videos uploaded YET! Still in the dilemma to find the right software. Been downloading, installing, deleting softwares. Can’t find a decent proper converter that could convert my .MOV videos without funny watermarks in the center of the video or converts 100% instead 20% of the full video. Sigh.. Anyone using Canon IXUS digicam? What software do you use to edit/resize your videos?

Trust me, I’ve tried Windows Movie Maker, DVD-Movie Maker, Xilisoft, OJO, APEX, FXBear, etc etc..you name it, I’ve tried it. I can’t upload to any video hoster as the size of the videos taken are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big! E.g. 300-600MB each!

Anyway, I’ll just story about the party with the pichas I’ve taken the other night and some stolen pichas from blogs. kekekkekeke…

From the previous post on Rocking the Sarawak Rock Party 2009, a so called “news” which is obviously a failed one. LOOOL!

The Sarawak Rock Party 2009 was held at Kenyalang Theatre, on April 26th, 2009 at 6.30pm. Previous Rock Party was in 2007 at Fe.ver pub. It was crowded back then, as the place is to small to accommodate the huge crowd. This time round, the hall is big and spacey. So, it was pretty comfortable – space wise.

Emcees - Season & Adeline

Season Ting and Adeline Yeo were the emcees for the night. The only two persons we could hear loud and clear throughout the whole night.

MonkeyKat's Comel Basist

MonkeyKat was the first band to perform. They have lots of fans! The lead singer is pretty and very young compared to the bandmates. Their first song was an English song. Unfortunately, due to the audio settings, I couldn’t really hear what she was singing. The vocals were too soft and only can really hear her in the video.

Disable

Disable consists of these young chaps. They were not as loud as the rest and they were more shy on stage. Time and exposure will change that.

Rock Paradise

Rock Paradise came all the way from Miri to perform for this event. They were pretty good. They performed the most songs for the night.

Khai - Edwin

Khai, a newly formed band. Made their first appearance at the Rock Party. The lead singer, whom we are all familiar with, non other than Edwinaaaah Edwin. We couldn’t really hear what he was singing, but they were rocking hard! Just look at him. Such a rocker.

Channel 1

Channel 1 is no stranger band to us as their lead singer, Pazuzu – Alvin, a well known fella in the blogosphere. A man of multitalents, a photographer, blogger and singer (I’m sure there are more talents hidden in him). Fuahhh.. All in one.

Frankie and William (Season’s bro – talented brothers) performed as the guitarist and drummer in the band that night.

Spider Web

Spider Web is one of the best performers that night. They really brings the rocking feeling in the whole theatre. Very nice touche They were experienced and the lead singer sang in Hakka! How cool is that?! I may not understand Hakka but the songs sounded great! This Uncle rocks!

Slap!

Slap! consists of 4 members; Rambo, Leslie, Edwin and Jack. Today, there are only 3 member. Rambo, their lead singer got fished to Taiwan. Signed a contract there. All the best, Rambo!! Miss your performance though. Nontheless, Slap! is still doing well. They are still hipped and rocking!

Visualies - Ah Wai

Visualies also a no stranger band. They’ve been around for many years. That night, they performed a few self written songs. In this picha, Wai, their guitarist, demonstrated his guitar stunt. Swinging his guitar around his neck. Cool man. Now I know why his neck so “slim”. LOL

There are some more bands performing that night, but I’ll stop here for now. Will post them in another post. *Wipes sweat* 8 bands down, 5+1 to go. Teehee..

A total of 14 bands and 1 artist performed during the event. The 14 bands are AMS (from Hong Kong), Channel 1, Disable, Dream Machine, Dyerbreed, Khai, Lang (from KL), MonkeyKat, Rock Paradise (from Miri), SingleTrackMind, Slap!, SpiderWeb, Swing Habit, Visualies and Zhao. Not forgetting Season, the performing artist and emcee for the night. It’s so unfortunate for Orion Burn not being able to perform because their lead singer was not well. Maybe next time

There were approximately 20 bloggers (statistics taken according to the bloggers Annna knows) were at the event. *Nice to meet you all again *

It was a sexciting fantanciting (fantanstic + exciting) event! I enjoyed the event very much. Extreame shouting, extreme screaming, extreme loudness, extreme jumping, extreme pushing, extreme camwhoring, extreme phototaking, extreme laughint, extreme headbanging, extreme extreme extreme everything. In short, it was an extreme deafing experience!

Last but not least, support our local industry. (sound like radio)

Secondly, Allen is adopting 2 female puppies. Earlier this month or end of last month, Allen once told me that he’s looking for puppy. I have a friend who owns a lot of doggies, so I asked her if she got any puppies. Lucky you Allen, her dog just gave birth to a few healthy puppies 2 months ago. I’m very happy for you, Allen. I’ve always wanted to have my own puppies but parents don’t allow. wuuwuuwuu…

The third one would be, for those Celcom Xpac users, you should know what’s the happening for tonight. Mayday is in Kuching. My cousin, Gladys, offered me a ticket to go with her to the concert. BUTTTTT I couldn’t go. =( Why must they organise concerts on Sundays????? Cubala Friday ka, Saturday ka.. Sunday is family day wor.. Sure have to be guai guai stay at home pei family dinner. Thanks Couz for asking.. =D
