THE CLUB is the new lobby lounge in Riverside Majestic Hotel.  Formerly, it was a shoe store. THE CLUB operates 16 hours a day! From 9.00am till 1.00am the next day!

The Club's operating hours

Currently, The Club is having the Happy Hour Deal which is from 12pm till 9pm daily. During the Happy Hour, guests are entitled to the Buy 1 FREE 1 offer on all house pouring brands inclusive of beer, house wines and cocktails. *like*

What’s best is that they are operating through lunch and the Happy Hour is applicable during LUNCH HOUR!! Now, I have a new spot for lunch with nice, comfy and great ambiance spot for a quick bite of sandwich or cakes or pastries with cocktail coffee. It’s like a 5 Stars Starbucks, but better because they serve alcohol and that shouts,  “COCKTAILS!” *double like*

This is what it looks like from the main entrance. The entire lounge can accommodate approximately 50 people for a function like a cocktail reception. 50 is just comfortably alright, more than that would be too crowded.

The Club three entrances

The lobby is still under construction, otherwise, you can just walk in from there. For now there are two entrances to The Club; one from the shopping mall and the other is from outside.

The Bar

This is the bar. It can accommodate approximately 5-7 people. Not a very long bar, but enough for those who just want to grab a drink and chat with the bartender.

Enough introduction on The Club, to know more about it is to experience it yourself. Now, I want to show off my experience at The Club. *plays harp*

The Star Sarawak Edition was officially launched by YB Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Johari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Sarawak, representing YAB Chief Minister of Sarawak. YB was accompanied by The Star’s Executive Deputy Chairman Dato’ Clement Hii, Datin Linda Ngiam, Mr Ng Beng Lye, Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai and Mr. Rajah during the launching.

The event started with registration of invited guests and members of the media. The invited guests were mostly from business organisations and associations. I went over to register as a Media. :3

I was among the Kuching bloggers invited by Kenny to join the private dance aerobics class by Busman. ahlost, mike, steve and I joined the class.

Weeks before the private class, ahlost and I attended several Busman’s classes.  You know, just to get used to some of the moves so that we don’t sia soi ourselves. BUT, Busman’s body is so flexible and all his movements are so graceful (state representatives ok, don’t play play)!! I looked like a robot following those movements =________=|||

The evening did not end there. We had “fun” jammed in the parking lots. Apparently someone parked their car in their own convenience and hence, made the way out complicated and caused a massive jam in the parking lots. Throughout the jam, some of us were on twitter. It was a great pleasure to meet H.E. Ensar Eminovic, Ambassador of Bosnia-Herzegovina to Malaysia in person over a cup of coffee in Starbucks, tHe Spring. Ensar (prefers that we address him by his first name) was in town for the Malaysia Day celebration, as well as for the press conference of Malaysia Global Business Forum – Bosnia (the Forum). I am honoured to be among the few bloggers invited to get the first scoop about the Forum the night before the press.

We learnt a lot more than just the Forum.  Ensar shared a lot about their to culture, lifestyle, attractions, and even food! Kudos to Cyril and Norman for the great interview – they know what to ask. I only asked about food in Bosnia.

Bosnia – Herzegovina is located in the Southeast of Europe. Like any country in Europe, Bosnia has 4 seasons (Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer). The currency used is Bosnia Mark. It is approximately 1.95 Mark to Euro.

One of the most popular food in Bosnia is the Bosnian kebab. That explains the humble Satay lover, Ensar who then continued to describe more about Bosnian foodstyle. Bosnian kebab is eaten with sour cream and bread which looks like a naan bread. Bosnian food is very much influenced by the Turkish as they were under the ruling of Turkey for many many years. Young calf and sheep are popular eaten meat, especially those baby sheeps from the mountains. Cooking style is very much grilling and roasting.

Do you know that the first European Pyramid is discovered in Bosnia? The Bosnian Pyramid is located in the heart of Bosnia, Visoko city. It is one of the main attraction in Bosnia’s tourism sector. Taken from the BosnianPyramid.com, the pyramid is 2,300 feet high! And who said that only Egyptians have pyramids.

To add, Ensar mentioned, “We have more history than we can consume”.

When asked how does this and that feels like in Bosnia, Ensar smiled and repeatedly said that to know more about Bosnia, we must try and experience it for ourselves. Which is very true. I hope that someone would start up a Bosnian restaurant here. I am still very much incapable to finance my own return flight tickets.

I am very very honoured to meet Ensar and Nordin.

Since the schedule stated that the Fear Factor Competition would start at 4pm and the Traditional tatto demonstration would start at 5.00pm, so, we meet at the venue at 4pm. BUT THEN HORRR.. when we arrived, the Fear Factor Competition has already started. *piff*

Anyway, I guessed it right in Urban Roots 2009 Day 1, the  Fear Factor competition was to eat LIVE SAGO WORMS! Darrel was one of the Fear Factor Competitor and ate 4 LIVE SAGO WORMS!!

Each contestant were to eat 10 live sago worms! And each gets a RM10 Cold Storage voucher for taking up the challenge. -____________-||| RM10 cash voucher. At least a hamper of goodies or Tuak along with it.

Well, I did mentioned long long time ago that I’d like to try live sago worms, but having the worms wrigglying in front of me, really cuts off the thought. Gelik man!! Imagine the sago worm wriggling in your mouth when you bite off it’s head! EwWww..

To accomplish my mission to Urban Roots, I went for the cooked Sago worms. The aunty of the Sago Worm stall, demonstrated the cooking of sago worms. First, she fried some onions. Then, she dump in all the left over live sago worms into the wok. We all witnessed the live sago worms moving around, still alive in the wok until they died in the heat.

I was just standing next to the aunty. So, I offered to kaypoh “help” the aunty to cook the worms. Let her rest a bit ma.. She has been cooking whole day long. LOOOL!

Once the cooked sago worms were placed in a plate, all the DSLRs moved forward to take pichas. Dasyat!

Must learn to enjoy your food. Take it slowly. Savour every bit of it. *geliks* Anyway, I ate two of it. First sago worm was okay. Juicy and a bit sweet. Second one gelik habis! The juice grossed me out. *GELIK*

I was not the only one alone to try the cooked sago worms. There were several “survivors” namely; Edwin, TMOT, Steve and Sofian (ate the live sago worm), as well as other visitors who were there that afternoon.

Tuak - Rice liquor

After worming, we went to try Tuak – Rice liquor. RM10 per bottle. Steve bought a bottle of it. To me, the liquor is not very strong and has very little kick in it. =X

TMOT self proclaimed this as Ikan Paus, so loudly!! *burn burn* lol.. We had a good laugh.

Among other activities they have there, one of it was the beading of “Kampung Hat”.

Then, we stopped by the TRADITIONAL TATTOO booth. Zzz.. Why they resechedule la! Wanted to witness the ethnic traditional tattoo. Anyway, we witnessed some “tattooing”.

The Breeze Mag Kuching Launch Party, was held at Victoria Arms, Merdeka Palace on April 30th, 2009. The party was divided in two parts. The first part which starts at 8pm was only for invited guests. The second part starts at 9.30pm and it is when the party is open to the public.

Private Function/Party for the launch will start at 8pm with dinner and drinks served. However, this is by invitation only. No tickets can be purchased for this segment of the event.

The RM30 tickets that have been given out for free at Limkokwing last week is for the party from 9.30pm onwards. Those interested to party with us but didn’t receive any calls or sms or invitation card to the earlier segment from our management, please come after 9.30pm. DJ Stuntly and DJ Leiley will be spinning after 10.30pm.

Well, I was in the guest list with 9 other bloggers. Many many thanks to Fahriee for spreading the news and effort on getting us 10 into that list!

In just one night I took over 379 pichas!!! LOOOOL!! After filtering the whole lot, I edited and uploaded 166 pichas.  To that, I’m going to posts about the party in a few posts. The evening started with food and drinks – cocktail style. Along with the cocktail party, there were fashion shows from Absolutely, Limited Edition and IT Fusion. The models were non other than the Breeze Model Search’s finalists. Posting few pichas taken for this post (to avoid slow loading).

Was trying for an upclose shot but failed when the models looked away. Happened several times. Either they looked away when I wanted to snap already, or they pose and walks off uberly fast. *shrugs*

GY! Class timetable changed from Wednesday evenings to Monday evenings. I thought the changes are only applied beginning next week. Went to class last night and was dumb founded with aliens faces in the class. Thank God I didn’t sit down and jot notes!

Of course, they are the lucky ones or not so lucky ones to taste yours truly’s cooking. I made some mashed potatoes, salad dressing, steamed cauliflowers and potatoes, white sauce and fried pasta (which is a bit cacated). Abuthen.. Of course I can cook.

Nonetheless, I believe no one had diarrhea or any symptoms of food poisoning, so, it is safe to declare that it was a successful dinner I do hope everyone filled up their tanks fully before leaving for home.

Many many thanks to Edwin for being the Maria doing most of the big cooking – Lamb Stew and Horse Meat (I’m serious it’s horse) and cleaning up towards the end of the night and non-stop reminding on closing and locking the backdoor (it sounds so wrong okay).

And thanks to all who came – you know who you are.

It was a heck of a fun time. Too much laughter and fun till time was forgotten.

Oh yea.. I still have 2 dares and 2 truths outstanding. =/ That’s another story.

Got the doggie balloon from the Clown entertaining passers by at the Rainbow something carpet/sofa/home cleaning/purifying machine demonstration. I have no idea what the heck they are selling or promoting even after I asked the girl standing around holding papers (supposedly for survey?) and pen. It’s so freaking weird. They don’t even bother approaching, instead, they just stood there watching kids (including me and Sharon) getting baloons.

I heard that they are doing some survey. What sorta survey? Counting the number of doggie baloons being given away?
