During my visit to Penang, I managed to check out a few new coffee places in Georgetown. Wanted to try the coffee at Moustache Houze, but it was closed and only open from 4pm onwards *mehhhh*. So, we checked-in to the cafe next to it, Sugar Honey. Then, in the evening we dropped by Moustache Houze (which will be in another post).
The signboard reminds me of Moulin Rouge.
Sugar Honey is short for Sweet Time in Sugar Honey (you’ll spot this on Foursquare and Facebook). The cafe operates from 12pm till 10pm (Monday to Thursday) and 12pm to 12am (Friday to Sunday). They close on Tuesdays.
Sugar Honey has nice interior and ambiance. The place is chic with a bit of quaint touch. Love the collection of old lamps they have in here.
They have many DIY stuffs here and some are even up for sale. Since it was the month of Christmas, the place was decorated with Christmas ornaments and decorations. My personal favourite is their DIY wall Christmas tree. Very creative.
They provide free WiFi and the password can be found on the “flower cup” on each table.
Order and payment is made at the counter. Food and beverage will be served to your table. Another wonderful thing about Sugar Honey is that there’s no tax charged (as of yet). Although, parking can be a pain (very hard to get parking around this area).
Simple and straight forward menu on the blackboard behind the counter. Look out for their monthly specials.
Iced Chocolate Classic @ RM10.90
Cafe Latte @ RM9.90, Tiramisu, Cookie Latte
Cookie Latte @ RM10.90
Both the cafe latte and cookie latte were served with brown sugar on a wooden board. Very nice presentation. The lattes were too mild for my liking and the Cookie Latte was too sweet. I guess they mixed some sweet cookie in there.
Tiramisu @ RM8.90
The tiramisu was a disappointment. It was like pudding topped with cocoa powder. Or maybe it’s some fusionised Tiramisu.
The price is pretty reasonable for a place like this but the food and drinks need to be at par for it. There are rooms for improvements. Although the drinks weren’t as how we expected it to be, we enjoyed the venue and the ambiance. A nice place to chill especially on this scorching hot sunny day.

Sugar Honey is located along Campbell Street, beside Moustache Houze and directly opposite Nam Loong Jewellers. Not hard to locate, just a little pain to get parking.
