Sushi King Bonanza 2009
Better late than never.

Sushithoner
I went to the Sushi King with Bro for the Sushi King Bonanza. We went on the second day of the bonanza. We planned to go on the first day, but failed to make it. Anyway, I didn’t get to sushithon (sushi marathon) throughout the whole bonanza period because I had to fully utilise my time to do revision instead of queuing in the line waiting to be seated. =X

Time for Sushithon
That day I was on study leave =X
The thing is, Sushi King Bonanza only happens twice a year. So, by hook or by crook, I must go for Sushithon at least once during the bonanza! RWOWWW!!!

WOH!! Best! NO QUEUE!!
To avoid wasting my PRECIOUS time from queuing, we went to the Spring’s Sushi King as early as 10.30am, when most Sushithoners were at work. Hekhekhek..

Wooot!! Bonus one hour of Sushiton!

The crowd at 11am
Just when the clock strucks 11am, the crowd grew, and the queue started already. But, we can relax and enjoy our sushi as we have 45 more minutes before they shoo us. Lol.

OMG SO SMALL!!
So small the saucer!!!! My Ebi (prawn) can’t even can take a bath in it *grumble grumble*
Anyway, let the Sushithon begins….

Smoked Salmon
I prefer smoked salmon over sake. Love the smokeyness.

Surimi Scallop
Bro’s fav. I like the scallops, but not the rice.

Chuka Chinmi (Seasoned Scallops)
This is yummy. It’s flavourful and Q.

Can you tell that these are scallops?
First it looks gross. Just close one eye and stuff it in your mouth, you’ll be floating. NYEH

Philadelphia Maki
I don’t like this. The cheese tastes weird. o.O!!

California Maki
There were 4 of them, 2 were in my storage already. The California Maki is one of my favourites here. There’s crabstick, egg, cucumber and nori, and topped with fish roe. And obviously, the portion of the fish roe is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar different from the picture seen in the menu. What do you expect more from a RM2 a plate? lol

Fry Roll
There’s deep fried prawn (yummeh), cucumber, nori and mayonnaise. Love this.

Chuka Idako
Another fav but this one not that nice anymore. The nori already soggy and the baby octopus are dry.

Ebi Fry
This is the deep fried prawn nori-belted to the rice. Feels like throwing the rice under the table and just eat the prawns. XDDDDDDDDDDD

KIASU UNAGI EATERS!!! >:[
And 7 early 8 early already got kiasu people. Bah!!! We missed a few rounds of Unagi servings! >:((((((((
The nice waitress were kind enough to hand me a few plates of Unagi before reaching the other guests. >:]]]]]]

More Unagi!

13 plates for 2 Sushithoners
Annna VS Bro
7 VS 6
Break record I eat more than Bro.
One thing I realised, the sushi rice is nicer in the mornings than in the evenings. It doesn’t have that funny smell and taste. Guess, all this while when we have Sushithon for dinner, the rice……………….not that fresh. =X
* * * * *
On the last day of the bonanza, I went to Sushi King again. This time, I went at 9.45pm instead. *LAMAO* This is practiced from past experience. Normally, on the last day of the bonanza, the minute they want to clear the kaiten belt, all sushi are applicable to take away at RM2.00 >:]]]]]]]]]

That night, I was not alone. Ahlost and JF joined me at Sushi King. Ahlost and I were happily packing the Unagi Sushi.
