Summer Styles and Colours 2010 by Essensuals Hairdressing

Introducing my new profile picha in Facebook:

new FB profile picha

Teeheehee.. It’s real hair, not a wig. Just got my hair makeover by Jacqueline Chang, Director of Essensuals Hairdressing Kuching, and crews for the latest “Essensuals Summer Styles and Colours 2010“.

Yesterday, I went to Essensuals Hairdressing looking like this:

This is before the hair cut. So messy and rugged.

This is the length of my messy hair.

Jacqueline introduced and recommended the Summer 2010 haircut, style and color which is suitable for my face. First, she asked if I’m willing to cut my hair short to suit the Summer collection. Then, she asked about the nature of my work and lifestyle to choose the coloring and highlight for my hair.

When she suggested that I cut my hair short, I was kinda reluctant at first because I’m planning to keep my hair long. So long no long hair already. :P She then said that if I cut my hair short, my face would appeal more. Adding that it would give me a more modern and chic look. Furthermore, long hair makes me look older. LOL

Did I give in my hair? See the end result.

YienYien had her hair makeover at the same time as mine as we set our appointment time together :P

You can checkout her Summer Styles 2010 here.

Ahlost also had her hair SUMMERised. Checkout hers here.

Hair washed and wrapped

The hair makeover began with a hair wash by Roger. My hair was then wrapped up neatly. I think I can go out walking around with the towel wrapped on my head. *LOL*

Wella & Essensuals Hairdressing "apron" on me

Then, they put this white “apron” on me. For coloring, they had the black one on me (see somewhere in the next few pichas)

waiting "calmly" for Jacq

Jacqueline is getting ready her tools and gears while I wait “calmly”. Truth is, I was kinda nervous to get my hair makeover :P

hair sectioned

Before she cuts my hair, she split my hair in many sections for precise cutting. Very very technical stuff. Just know that end result will be good lah.

These are some of Jacqueline’s tools:

important clippers

Pro Scissors

Don’t see her tools so simple like that, cost very expensive one ok!

JAW = Jacqueline At Work

While Jacqueline was so focused working on my hair, I on the other hand plays around.

Don’t you think this picha looks funny? hahahaha.. It looks like I have Sunrise on my head or or a new set of hair bun! hehehe.. *notti*

Phase 1 in progress

After the long snip snip, half of my hair were on the floor. I could feel coolness at the back of my neck. Jacqueline discovered something about my back hair. Apparently, I have turtle tail. Heehee..

Long Bangs

When she’s done cutting the back and side of my hair, she then proceeded with the bangs/fringe/front hair.

Familiar bangs

Then, when she pulled my hair to the side, it reminded me and Yien of something. LOL!! I then took out my phone and started to Google the picha which we used to laugh at many years back. LOL!!

CHH with hair

So alike right?! YES? NO? YES? NO?

CHH look-alike

Look alike lah.. Just the hair.

Phase 1 Complete

After the hair cut, Roger rinsed and blow dry my newly cut hair. This is the completion of Phase 1: Hair cut/shaping

Phase 2: Highlighting

Proceeded to Phase 2: Highlighting. Wee~ Got my hair highlighted. <3 the pink hair clips.

Microwave

Then, I changed seating for Microwave session. Jacqueline said that I would have to heat my hair with the microwave aka Heater. LOL

Microwaving

Lalalala~ 15 minutes in the microwave, 10 minutes cooling, this is the result:

Phase 2 complete

The completion of Phase 2.

Phase 3: Coloring

Roger proceeded Phase 3: Coloring. Starting from the back, bottom to top. These clippers clipping my hair to the side, makes me look so kiddish! LOL!

waiting for the color to settle in

Now the process of waiting starts again.. wait wait wait.. Gladys dropped by to see us and when Yien left, she was around to chit chat with me while waiting till the end. ^_______^ Thanks to Dys for being there with me, so I was not alone throughout the rest of the process ;)

This is how it look like, upclose

:3

After some minutes wait, Roger rubbed in the rest of the paste and after a few more minutes wait, it’s done. Phase 3 completed.

Got my hair washed and did some treatment to prevent my hair from being to dry.

Both Jacqueline & Roger blow dry my hair

And now for the finale, shaping and styling of the hair.

Shaping the hair with hairdryer

As Jacqueline was styling my hair, she shared some tips on how to maintain and style the new hair.

[P/S"Most of the time, I had my hands and eyes on my phone. LOL.. Keeping everyone updated with the process of my hair makeover in Twitter and Facebook :P ]
