Songket Restaurant’s 1st Anniversary

Happy 1st Anniversary Songket Restaurant!

Was invited to participate Songket Restaurant’s 1st anniversary celebration. Being there brought back the memories when I first visited the restaurant, which was a year ago. It felt like I was there yesterday, noming their delicious beef ribs! Oh, how fast time flies~

That night, we were fed with some of their selected signature dishes (which are also the features of their Signature Delights promotion) at their buffet table.

Cucur Udang (prawn fritters)

“Crisp morsels of deep fried prawn and vegetable strips in light batter and served with homemade chili sauce.”

Popiah Goreng (golden fried spring rolls)

Tauhu Sumbat (tofu with stuffed vegetables)

“Pocket of fried bean curd stuffed with fresh mix vegetables.”

Kerabu Mangga

“Young mango salad tossed in a slightly spicy homemade dressing.”

Absolutely love this and I wish I could tapao (pack home) and eat it everyday *giggles*

Main Courses

Steamed Rice & Nasi Minyak (spiced fragrant rice)

Ayam Golek

“Ayam Golek is chargrilled of chicken marinated in tumeric and ginger, drizzled with a lightly spiced coconut gravy.”

Masak Lemak Ayam dengan Nangka

“The chicken pieces simmered in a rich and spicy curry of turmeric and young jackfruits.”

Sotong Pedas

“Special cooked squids with onion cashew nuts and curry leaves in a fragrant spicy sauce.”

Rendang Daging

“Dry beef curry cooked in an aromatic infusion of spices over a slow fire.”

French beans with prawns

Fried French beans with prawns. I enjoyed this <3 Love the crispy beans and fresh prawns. Although the beans were crispy, I still manage to eat a wholesome using the spoon to cut them into small pieces. :)

On my plates

Even though I just got my braces on, I am still able to savour all the dishes. :D

One of the few things not to miss out from Songket is their homemade chili sauce! Woo~ anything with their homemade chili sauce would taste havenly. Miss their spiceh sauce!

From all the dishes, there’s my favourite food, Squid! Too bad I couldn’t enjoy it that night :( Can only taste it.

The beef rendang is my most favourite dish of the night. Give me anything meaty and spicy, I’m on it!

From the Kuihs, Yin helped to grab some seri muka (green and white kuih), my favourite kuih of all time and pudding. The only thing I like about seri muka is the top green part :P That night I only eat those and left the rice for others =x

A birthday is not complete without the birthday cake. We shared a slice of their havenly birthday cake. Love it!

That night, like any other nights, patrons were entertained by cultural performances and they have it every Monday to Saturday from 8.30pm onwards.
