Seriously. Where can you find salmon sashimi at RM3 for 3 fine slices? どこ?どこ? (doko? doko? Where? Where?)
At Sushi Flash.
It’s the new sushi place in SS15, Subang Jaya, located on the same row as McDonald’s. As we all know, there are all kinds of eateries of various cuisines catering every foodie of all ages in that area. Especially family crowd and students since there are many colleges and uni nearby. The place is usually packed on weekdays.
Unlike your average sushi chain outlets, Sushi Flash is a very casual Japanese dining place and they only serve sushi and Japanese side dishes. Sushi Flash”s tagline is “Eat Like A Boss”. So, you actually just grab any sushi off the kaiten (sushi conveyor) belt and eat it like a boss. There’s absolutely nothing to worry about how much you’re eating because you’re suppose to eat like a boss. Heh. And nothing from the belt is more than RM3 a plate!
Price on Kaiten Belt
Beige coloured plate @ RM2.00
Any coloured plate (red/black) @ RM3.00
Unlimited refill of green tea @ RM2.00 (Hot/Cold)
A little more feel like a boss, you flip open the menu and just point at almost everything there is in there. Menu is pretty simple and straight forward with images. Now comes the interesting part, Price. For such casual dining, I’m surprised that for the food they are offering the price they are charging is simply too good to be true aka cheap cheap.
Appetizer & Crispy Side Order
We started off with some apetisers and our all time favourite of Deep Fried Salmon Skin, Deep Fried Shishamo and Edamame (soybeans in the pod). We ordered them from the menu and they were made upon order. So, our Salmon Skin were crispy just the way I like it.
Gunkan Maki (Battleship Sushi)
Our hands were stretching out to the kaiten belt most of the time and we just grabbed any appetizing looking sushi there is.
There are more than 40** types of sushi on the menu and some seen on the kaiten belt. You can order from the menu or just grab them off the belt.
Although the price is cheaper than your usual Japanese restaurant, they don’t stinge on ingredients (of course can’t compare by quality but these are pretty decent).
For a fuller meal, they have Bento Set to choose from. Donburi (Japanese rice bowl) makes hearty meal that are satisfying at any time of the day. We shared the Breaded deep fried ebi (prawn) tempura which was served with egg and onion on the bed of fragrant rice.
Can’t believe this is only RM9.90!
They also serve Chawanmushi which is on a separate menu. They have pretty good chawanmushi. It’s really delicate and silky with mushroom, naruto and I don’t want to tell you what else is in it. You go and try it yourself 😀
Although they only serve sushi, salmon sashimi, handroll and other side dishes, dining here won’t break a bank that’s for sure. Sushi Flash is a value for money dining place. So, all you people staying in Subang Jaya, Taylor’s and Inti students and etc students nearby, this is one place you can “Eat like a boss” (based on their tagline) at a pocket friendly price.
