Qualities Men Should Have

The other day, I stumbled upon this controversial video called “Linora’s Take On Men“. It was about Linora’s opinions on man’s behaviors when dating and pointed out that Chivalry is dead.

Would love to share the video, but unfortunately, the video was taken down right after that day. Nonetheless, I have the screenshots of the video to share and also included my own opinions. Here are some of the main points taken from the video:

Chivalry

In short, Chivalry means Gentleman. From the video, Linora mentioned that some men doesn’t practice this. An example she gave was:

A guy and a girl, going on a date. Instead of holding hands that a lovely couple that they are, the guy is walking 5 steps in front of the girl. Rushing to the table to get a seat and get comfortable. He doesn’t even pull out the chair for the girl. Just sits there comfortably. The best part was, while he was so kancheong to get to the table, he end up stepping on the girl’s shoes. Oh hell no, the shoes!! Although the fact then was not about him pulling out the chair, but because the guy hurt the girl’s foot.

Her last sentence on this was that it doesn’t matter what century it is, Chivalry should exist all the time.

These are some simple acts of chivalry:

• The one who opens the door for the ladies. Any doors. Be it car doors, entrance door, exit door, lift door, JUST DOORS. 
• The last man standing. Holds the lift doors open and let all the ladies out before exiting.
• On a cold weather, offers his jacket.
• When it is raining, holds the umbrella.
• When walking by the street, let her walk on the inner pavement. So, she won’t risk being in danger of traffic.
• When going out together, pick her up.
• Always offer to walk her to her car, or drive her home.
• Even when he runs into an acquaintance on the street, always introduce her.

It’s not like we women can’t take care of ourselves, chivalry doesn’t mean men should take care of women. It’s just a simple act of courtesy. To put it simple, a gentlemen is polite, respectful, considerate and attentive to a woman’s needs. A good guy never cross the line of being inappropriate.

Patience

Here, Linora mentioned that guys should be a little more patient. Girls always want to look good for the guys. And that women are actually very patient with guys, especially when they play computer games.

Why guys can’t wait for girls for half an hour, yet girls have to wait up to 5 hours for them to finish up the game.

I’d say this guy is such a noob to take so many hours to kill in the game. Or that, he just wants to play his game. If the guy wants to stay at home and play his games, just tell the girl, “Baby, I want to stay home and play for a couple of hours.”

Give her a time frame! Like how long do you need or when are you free. Don’t make girls wait and wondering whether you’re done soon or you need some more time. Girls ain’t psychic, dude.

And girls, get your own plan – go shopping or hang out with your girlfriend. You don’t live to accompany him only.

Grooming

This one is hilarious. Linora said that grooming is not just about styling your hair. Guys should also take concern about their other parts of the body, such as facial skin.

Long Nails

Long fingernails was pointed out immediately after the facial skin. Why do men have long nails? To say having to play guitar is such a gross reason, she said. However, I thought, you need to trim your fingernails short when playing the guitar. Well, that’s from my experience in guitaring. You can’t play the notes with long nails….UNLESS……..you strum using your long nails! #dafuq

I’ve met a few guys whose fingernails are longer than mine. Not only that, NICER THAN MY OWN FINGERNAILS. FML..

Do men do pedicure? Please give me the number of the place. fmlttm

Spider Hair

Spider hair here refers to nostril hair. It irked Linora that some guys do not trim their nostril hair and finds it disgusting. She’ll be staring at it the entire night. LOL

Next, she also mentioned about body odor. “Dude, there’s so many deodorants out there, just buy one of the shelf! It’s not so hard. If it doesn’t smell so nice, change it. Buy another one. It’s not too difficult.”

Well, truth to be told, some guys might not know about their body odor. Even though their sense of smell is powerful, but some can’t really smell their own odor. Their nose is used to their own body odor that it learns to ignore it or just gets tired of it.

However, it’s important for a guy to pay attention to his scent…manly scent. According to a research conducted by scent experts, including Rachel Herz, PhD, shows that women rank scent as the most important feature for determining whether or not they’re attracted to guys. Dude, start shopping.

Before the end of the 4 minutes video, Linora left this final message for the guys:

“Fix thyself for us females.”

“You can depend on a man. You can’t depend on a boy.”
