Merry Guinness Pre Xmas Party

This December, celebrate Merry Guinness Pre-Xmas Party with Grand Margherita Hotel in its Rajang Lobby Lounge.

Enjoy a perfect pint of Guinness Stout draught and festive buffet at Rajang Lobby Lounge at RM50++ from 7pm till 9pm. This promotion lasts till December 23, 2010.

While others prefer beer, I prefer Guinness Stout over beer. Others think that Guinness is harder to drink than beer, but I disagree. Furthermore, stout is healthier than beer.

Before hitting the buffet tables, we had dessert first. For dessert we were served with  Guinness ice cream.

The ice cream is served with peanuts and topped with fresh wild cherry.

The ice cream has a tad taste of Guinness. This somehow gave me the idea about having a Guinness float, Guinness served with ice cream vanilla. <3 Hey, don’t give me that weird crazy look. I tried it before in Silo and it was Guinnesslicious!

You guys ought to try their Guinness ice cream. If they ran out of it, request for ice cream vanilla to top up your Guinness. Teeheee..

#1 Green corner

The green corner consists of varieties of lettuce to enjoy and comes with three dressings of thousand island, mustard mayo and vinegratte.

#2 Mouthful Counter

The mouthful goodies are spoonful of potato salad and herbish tomatoes.

#Cheesy plate

The cheesy plate is our favourite! Even has my favourite choice of cheese: BLUE CHEESE, Brie, cheddar cheese and etc..

Brie is the one on the left which has this white coating on it. Blue cheese is beside it, which looks moldy and looks like blueberry cheese cake. LOL

I make yummy cheese galore: Blue cheese spread on cheese cracker  topped with walnut. …and..

…cheese brie sandwich.

#Breadsticks

These breadsticks are best to go with cocktail :3 Furthermore, there are many flavours of breadsticks. Guess what else goes superb with these breadsticks?

#Buffet Table

The appetizers are served inside the Lobby Lounge while the savouries are lined up outside.

Anyway, back to the buffet line. There are various range of meat from processed (sausages), stewed, roasted to BBQ!

#Baked Potato and Spicy Potato Wedges

When baked potato vs potato wedges, I give baked potato the win.

I just love baked potato with sour cream!

#Roasters

The best part of the buffet is the roasted beef and turkey! Plus, there are accompanied with mushroom sauce and cranberry sauce of your choice to go with the meat. Yes, cranberry sauce! Reminds me of my favourite beef balls with cranberry jam from IKEA. :3

#Roasted air-flown beef

The roasted beef is so dem enticing! Just by looking at it, I can feel my mouth watering and craving to have a taste of it already. You can tell how tender and succulent the meat is from the bloody and juicy look on the beef. *slurps*

#Roasted Tom Turkey

Turkey is the giant version of chicken and it clucks too :3

Anyway, the turkey is superb with cranberry sauce and I assure you, the next time you go on meat galore, you will ditch mushroom and brown sauce and would request for cranberry sauce.

[Tips: I'm so addicted to cranberry jam, I bought a bottle from IKEA to go with my mummy's cooking.]

#Satay Rajang

In Malaysia, Satay is always seen in every festive meals and seldom or rarely NOT seen in every buffet line. It’s like the “MUST HAVE”. Even during Potluck party, you never fail to have it.

If Kajang is known for its Satay Kajang, then Rajang Lobby Lounge  might as well be known for its Satay Rajang.

#Good Food on the Plate

In my previous post, I shared a few tips when hitting the buffet table; TIP #1: Always start with the salad.

If greens ain’t your cup of tea, you can start off with the appetizers but don’t fill up your tummy with too much of this potato salad as it is carbs and you easily get full just eating it alone.

If given the choice, I’ll dig the fish roe and leave the potatoes for others =X

Cherry tomatoes in sticks, sprinkled with olive oil and herbs are superb. I love it!

Protein and carbs are the “Must Have”.

Baked potato with sour cream is my favourite. I had 3 of it =x Kudos to the Chef for the wonderful sour cream.

The MUST MUST HAVE among all, the roasted beef and turkey and the Satay.

The best combo among all, Roasted Tom Turkey and Cranberry Sauce.

Every good food must come with good drinks and company...

….and the good company is of course ME and the Guinness babes. :3
