Now I can enjoy a nice cup of coffee before heading for class and perhaps some toast for supper before going home after class because there’s a new IpohTown Kopitiam outlet near college.
Located in Brighton Square, Jalan Song. Where is this Brighton Square? Look out for Titanium building, you’ll find Brighton Square it’s adjacent to it.
Fact is, we (classmates and I) have been eyeing and waiting patiently for the kopitiam to open.

Taken on July 8, 2009
It says, “Opening Soon”. Question is, how soon?
2 weeks later, there were some progress.

For Project 365: Day 118 July 23, 2009
3 days later, it’s opened

IpohTown Kopitiam, Brighton Square
Initial plan was to have some icy drink at Ah Meng, Hui Sing, but unfortunately, he’s closing. So, we moved over to IpohTown Kopitiam to “open ceremony” on their first day opening. *gaya orang Kuching (Kuchingkia’s style)*

Smells good~
Says the wallpaper, to try their Ipoh White Coffee.

Ipoh Town White Coffee @ RM2.40
The smell of it is nutty and creamy. To me, I think there’s too much milk. =/ Too milky till the taste of the coffee got covered up. Personally, the coffee is not strong enough for my liking. Perhaps the next visit, I’ll try the Ipoh Town Kopi O, fifty cents cheaper. LOL!

Remember menu code 101
Pricewise, more expensive than the local normal kopitiam. But hey, this is a franchise?

Ham & Cheese Sandwich @ RM4.00
Ordered one of their “Thumbs up” item in the menu, ham and cheese sandwich. The crispy brown bread with cheddar cheese and ham slice in it. Two pieces of sandwich, cut in halves. Can share it with another 3 friends.

LimTeh session at IpohTown Kopitiam
IpohTown Kopitiam serves no pork. The ham used is of Chicken. Ayam. Pok Pok Keh.

Butter Milk Polo Bun @ RM2.80
Rose ordered this, butter milk polo bun, another “Thumbs Up” item. There’s a whole piece of butter inside the polo bun! It’s not bad, but I still prefer my sandwich – more flavourful XD

menu with Thumbs up is a must try
I’d say, order a few items and share. It’s great to try varieties of items from the menu and it’s also a way of bonding

Nissin & Cha Siu @ 6.20
Mr. Foo had this nissin and cha siu to fill up his tank. A bit too plain =X

Total for 3 pax
Overall, IpohTown Kopitiam is a nice place for tea break/coffee break. Went there 3 times already since its opening =X

Hmm.. not sure if it’s from Semenanjung or not. But based on its name, IpohTown? Lol..
The ambiance is similar to Kaya & Toast.
Reply
it’s the old town kopitiam’s branch, not copied. it names it so because it’s opened in sarawak n not semenanjung.

I tried the so called IpohTown white coffee and it’s totally different from the one offered by Oldtown Kopitiam and not to say the original Ipoh white coffee. The taste is really bad and lack of aroma. I’m totally disappointed by the way this kopitiam operate, eg. put everything with Ipoh in front of it, and actually it’s not even similar to original Ipoh dishes or drinks. By the way, I’m just gving my sincere comment and no offence to anyone. Myself is from Ipoh and currently studying in UNIMAS. If got chance, do come to ipoh and try the authentic one, then you will know the difference..vast difference..

thanks for your comment wai hong. our white coffee beans are import freshly from Ipoh every month. i clear understood y u said the taste is different compare to the original Ipoh one cause we have changed the brewing method accordingly to the local market taste bud. myself from ipoh as well, the white coffee to me is not perfect either but for the local market, they prefer not too be too “gau” and too milky. im sorry that the taste doesnt meet your satisfaction. a good new to you, i have actually improved and ordered the better quality coffee beans and changed a bit of the frying method, you should be able to taste the better white coffee taste by next month. do give it a try, and you may come and look for me if im around, i am Kelvin and if u r not satisfy, the bill will be on the house. we looking forward to serve you better…

Thanks kelvin for the info. Really looking forward to the improved white coffee. It’s really great to know that you are improving it, coz the first and the last time I tried it is during the opening month of the boulevard outlet.
Reply
wai hong, now i know what ur toking about.. we have switched our white coffee brewing method, i believed we were still using the instant white coffee powder when u patronized the shop at boulevard b4. have you tried our traditional brews now? come and give it a try..
Reply
No wonder it tastes totally different. I’ll try it when i’m back to kuching next month.
Reply
Yeah, do come over when u r back. N for those who said the coffee not “gau” enough, we have improved our white coffee bean cooking method, will introduce n brew with the new one start from next month.. Do come n try it out the aroma white coffee..
