Cooking Corns in Microwave Oven

Extracted this post from my old blog (changed the way of speech for better explanation)

First of all, you will need a bunch of fresh corns. You can get them from the market, Sunday Market (at Satok during the weekends) or even by the roadside on the way to or back from Bau, Santubong and etc..

A bunch of FRESH CORNS

Next, get your microwave oven ready. Make sure there’s nothing, N-O-T-H-I-N-G else accept the spinning plate inside.

Clean the corns by peeling off the outter layers of the corns.  Leave at least one or two layers of skin on the corn, just ensure the corns are covered. Place a small glass of water inside the oven.  Make sure your glass has no shiny shiny coating or design. This can cause free firecrackers show in the oven while the corns are cooking.
The glass of water is to keep and maintain the moisture and juicyness of the corns. So, they won’t turn out desertly-dry.

Set Micro Power to HIGH or 140 degrees and cook for 10-15 minutes. Mine are done in 12 minutes.

After the “TING” sound from the over, use fork or “kiap” the corns out.  Do not, I repeat, DO NOT ACT MACHO AND USE YOUR HANDS to take the corns out.
Peel the skin off and your corn is ready to be eaten. You can spread butter or honey on them for extra flavourings.

Tips: Cook the corn with its skin. This can save your time and no trouble to pull ALL the hair off the corn! You know, it’s a very tedious job to get rid of the hair (definitely can’t shave them la horr). Once it’s cooked, while it’s still hot, the hair is easily removed with no hassle.
