Last Saturday, I was at Bangsar Village 2 for the Super GT Roadshow with Kelson, Rachel, Rose and Yien. It was the Official Launch of SUPER GT 2012 Round 3 Malaysia.

The SUPER GT 2012 Round 3 Malaysia, one of the most popular and greatest motorsport events was officially launched today by JPM Motorsport at the Bangsar Village 2. SUPER GT is a world class Grand Touring Race Series where it is hugely popular and reputable in its country of origin – Japan. SUPER GT 2012 Round 3 Malaysia is the one and only round out of the eight round of the SUPER GT in Japan.

The SUPER GT Trophy for 2012 was unveiled by Mr JP Chin (founder of JPM Motorsport), Mr TJ Chin (Managing Director of JPM Motorsport), Mr Yochiro Ueno (Managing Director & CEO of Honda Malaysia) and Mr David Tan (Managing Director of Tumasek Pewter). Hundred members from several car clubs were also present to witness the momentous event.

During the launch, JPM Motorsport announced their plan to support the Kids for Kids Charity Foundation, a foundation that focuses on children welfare. For every SUPER GT tickets sold at RM100 (only at roadshows), RM50 will be contributed to “Kids to Kids Foundation”. The beneficiaries are Stepping Stones Home, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels and Agathian’s Shelter. Futhermore, every ticket purchased will stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes such as 50’’ TVs, Compact Cameras, DSLR, Samsung S2, Net Book, Anti Virus Product by AVIRA, GARMIN GPS, V Kool Tinting Services, Paint Shield Detailing and also motorcycles from NAZA.

Grandstand tickets are priced at RM100 each. Tickets are also available at www.supergt.com.my, www.ticketcharge.com.my, participating TicketCharge outlets like Speedy, Rock Corner, Victoria Music, or selected AFFIN Bank Branches  or at any of the roadshows. During the showcase, we were served with Glenmorangie Single Malt Scotch Whisky. What better way to experience the evening than having a glass of the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ Whisky in hand?

Unlimited pourings of whisky served in different servings of neat, with water and on the rocks (ice). Personally, I prefer having it on the rock

There were also Glenmorangie Single Malt Tasting workshop. This is where we learn more about tasting and appreciating Glenmorangie Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Also, the opportunity to taste a range of Glenmorangie whiskies; The Original, La Santa, and Astar.

Received my race kit for the Energizer Night Race 2012 on Wednesday. It’s my first time having my race kit delivered to my doorstep Safe me all the trouble to travel to the collection venue to collect them

The race kit comes with an striking orange running vest, running BIB, Kiwanis badge, Salonpas sample pack, Salonpas RM5 voucher, Energizer Night Race booklet, and Brooks RM120 rebate voucher.

Last Friday, I attended the Orange Retro Funk Night by Glenmorangie at The Pool, Jalang Ampang with the tagline “Unnecessarily Well Made”. Managed to pack my bag after the month end closing at work and head over to the party…..slightly late.

Glenmorangie is a distillery located in Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland which produces single malt scotch whiskey. It is said that the brand name Glenmorangie comes from the Scots Gaelic Gleann mor na sithe which means ‘valley of tranquility’.

There are several ways to enjoy Glenmorangie: Neat, with water or with ice. Each serving gives different experience and flavour of the whisky as described by Dr Bill Lumsden:

Neat – To try our whisky neat is to experience it in its purest form, where the complexity of the flavours and aromas is at its fullest intensity.

With Water -A little water will soften the alcohol, causing a change in the texture and bouquet of the whisky, and revealing further layers of aromas and complexity.

Over Ice – Adding two or three large rocks of ice to your whisky will close down the top notes that were released with water accentuating instead the base flavours from the oak barrel.

Even the glass you use to serve makes a different, just like drinking wine. The types of glasses you use influenced the effect on the flavour. So does it effect the flavour for Glenmorangie. To enjoy Glenmorangie at its best is to use a simple yet good quality glass which allows the aroma to be released when adding water or ice.

Being in an event as such, I get to meet new friends and also meet up with the familiar faces, catching up while sipping Glenmorangie  The Original in hand. I’m still learning to acquire the taste of whisky and slowly appreciate it more

On 25th January 2011, I witnessed the launching of “We Care with PRIDE” – a breast cancer education and awareness campaign at Coronade Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Coronade Hotel collaborates with Pink Ribbon Deeds (PRIDE) Foundation, Malaysia in joint support to fight against breast cancer. The  fund raising campaign runs throughout year 2011 [...]]]>

On 25th January 2011, I witnessed the launching of “We Care with PRIDE” – a breast cancer education and awareness campaign at Coronade Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Coronade Hotel collaborates with Pink Ribbon Deeds (PRIDE) Foundation, Malaysia in joint support to fight against breast cancer. The  fund raising campaign runs throughout year 2011 and ties with the Hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

Upon arrival, I was escorted to the event hall which made me feel like a VIP After registering myself at the entrance, I was introduced to some members of the Hotel Management.

In conjunction to the campain, the Hotel specially set-up committee comprising of personnel from both front and back-of-the-house. The committee will begin to educate and create awareness on breast cancer from inside out, from the Hotel staff and management, to the Hotel’s guests and clients, which will be accompanied by distribution of material and literature provided by PRIDE Foundation. As mentioned by the General Manager of Coronade Hotel, Encik Sazrul Fadzil.

Encik Sazrul also mentioned that the Hotel is contributing RM2,000 to PRIDE Foundation in supporting the campaign. There will also be a booth or section in the lobby to display materials like poster, brochures, and etc on breast cancer provided by PRIDE Foundation. Apart from that, there will also be displaying cabinets of PRIDE Foundation merchandise such as:

While waiting for the event to begin, there was a muffin making session for members of media and guests. I was intrigued by this session because I can learn some Chef Kung Fu in making a perfect muffin :3

Chef demonstrating the making of Orange Muffin. A very simple and easy recipe. The whole process of mixing the ingredients is less than 10 minutes, just the baking part is about 30 minutes. Plus, the recipe is very versatile! You could switch flavours to your liking.

Guests will receive one sweet PRIDE pink ribbon and a muffin when they contribute at least RM10 towards the cause.

The event started right after the muffin making demonstration with an opening gambit of Belly Dance performance by The Middle East Dance Academy, KL.

After the dance, there’s the opening speech by the GM, Encik Sazrul and speech by Puan Nasirah Aris, Advser of PRIDE Foundation.

Ms. Ranbir Kaur, a breast cancer survivor since 2000 took the stand on real life stories on the fight against cancer. She also shared with us how she became strong from the disease and overcome it. A very touching sharing. :’)

Teehee.. Rose, Yien and I bought a booklet of bricks for the Grand Margherita Hotel’s Gingerbread House Christmas Charity fund raising.

This year is the 17th consecutive year that Grand Margherita Hotel has organised the Gingerbread House Christmas Charity project! To date, they have raised RM252,525 and benefited more than 20 charitable homes.

The lighting ceremony began with Christmas caroling by the Grand Margherita Hotel and Riverside Majestic Hotel’s staff along with d’Dynamyx band (Rico and Honey) leading the Choir.

The hotels’ tagline, “Try us, you’ll love it”.

After the Christmas caroling, Eileen gave an introductory speech regarding the 17th Gingerbread house Christmas Charity. The project is organised by the Hotel’s staff recreation club. The donors to the project comprised of individuals from locals to tourists, various big and small organisations locally and across border.

Mr Oliver Janting, Chairman of the Grand Margherita Hotel’s Recreational Club announced that this year, 2010, the project has raised RM14, 835 for the charity. The two selected charitable homes for 2010 to benefit from the project’s fund are Kuching and Samarahan Cerebral Palsy Association, and Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA).

In his speech, he added that, “Christmas is a season filled with hope, love, sharing and giving; and through this Gingerbread house project, it just goes to attest that our community remains generous and has great concern to the less privileged.”

The evening did not end just like that. Refreshments were held at the Orchid Garden Coffee House after the ceremony. All who witnessed the lighting ceremony were invited.

The Magical X’mas Tree was lighted by the general manager, Mr Fabrice Mini together with the management team and 50 children from Kuching Autistic Association, Salvation Army and Sarawak Association for the Welfare of Intellectually Disabled Children helped to light the XL Christmas Tree.

Santa dropped by early this year to celebrate Christmas with the Children. While the management distributes Gingerbread man to everyone, Santa walks around with goodies. Hey! Why Santa didn’t give me goodies? I’ve been GOOD this year, I think

Next to the XL Christmas tree is Pullman’s homemade Gingerbread man! There were mini gingerbread men sitting in the big gingerbread man’s ribs and arms.

There were also mini Gingerbread men on the giant Gingerbread man’s body.

Gingerbread men were distributed by Pullman management team to all the children after the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Once everyone settled down with distributing and receiving the Gingerbread man,  the event was followed by a 30 minutes of Christmas Caroling from HOPE Church in the hotel Lobby.

Now, if you look closely at the XL Christmas Tree, you will notice some handmade Christmas ornaments, greeting cards and many more.

In conjunction with the month of Christmas, Pullman Kuching is organizing a charitable event by helping the 3 homes to sell Christmas Goodies that will be placed around and hang on the XL Christmas Tree.

From 1st – 31st December, Pullman Kuching will be displaying goodies from PERKATA (Sarawak Association for The Welfare of Intellectually Disabled Children), KAA (Kuching Autistic Association) and The Salvation Army Kuching Children and Boys Home.

Beautiful gifts such as Christmas Ornaments, little sand bottles, paintings, greeting cards and many more will be on sale ranging between RM1.00 to RM30.00 for anyone who plans to bring cheers to the children during the festive month.

After our fulfilling and bloatful dinner, we head to the XL Christmas Tree for a finale photoshoot with the tree since there are less crowd in the hotel Lobby = we can have the tree to ourselves :3

For this year, the BIGGEST Hennessy Artistry party of 2010 is expecting over 4,000 party-goers to attend!! So, be among the party-goers!!

This is one event with spectacular blend of live music from the world’s finest artists, namely Kardinal Offishal (Canada), Da Mouth (Taiwan), DJ Alex Dreamz (USA), Mizz Nina (Malaysia), Deja Voodoo Spells (Malaysia), and Foulworks feat. Ms. Eva T (Malaysia).

Here are some information about the artists:

#1 Kardinal Offishal

Leading the line-up at the upcoming Hennessy Artistry party is Canadian Hip-Hop icon, Kardinal Offishall. Having started rapping at the age of eight and winning competitions by the time he was 12, Kardinal is the result of a mix of pure talent and an obsessed passion for music. Credited as Canada’s ‘hip-hop ambassador’ Kardinal teamed up with iconic music mogul, Akon and released the infamous ‘Dangerous’ track that echoed around the globe peaking at #5 on the Billboard 100. Now back with his latest Mr. International album, Kardinal Offishall is ready to infect the dance floors once again with his blend of dancehall reggae and hip-hop mesh.

#2 Da Mouth

Staying true to H-Artistry’s innovative approach in blending musical genres of the East and West, the upcoming H-Artistry party will also see Taiwan’s rhythm pumping HipHop quartet, Da Mouth, take on the stage. Regarded as the Black Eyed Peas of Asia, Da Mouth is storming through the international music scene with their high-energy performances and their concoction of multi-talented and multi-racial group members. Da Mouth’s fun and funky club hip-hop brings something different to mainstream Mando-pop, as does their unique member composition. #4 Mizz Nina

Mizz Nina, whose music is influenced be the likes of MC Lyte, Run DMC and Lauren Hill, brings something fresh to the local music scene with her flipped musical style, on-stage delivery and unique lyrical poetry. Joining her is local powerhouse band, Deja Voodoo Spells. #6 Foulworks feat. Ms. Eva T

Yesterday, I attended the celebration of Grand Margherita Hotel & Riverside Majestic Hotel’s Makeover at Prince Hotel, KL with Chris Tock and Tian Chad.

The celebration began with a speech by YB Datuk Haji Talib Zulpilip, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Sarawak & Chairman of SEDC Sarawak.

YB gave a very enlightening speech introducing what Sarawak has to offer apart from staying in our own local home brand hotels, how friendly Sarawakians are, etc..

After YB’s speech, the other VIPs joined the YB on stage to launch the “Makeover” of both hotels, featuring a video about Sarawak and hotels in depth.

I will be attending the Asian Bloggers & Social Media Conference 2010 tomorrow and Thursday (July 27-28, 2010). This is my very first time attending a conference which is all about blogging and social media.

Our former Malaysia Prime Minister YABhg Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will be attending the conference as well (get to meet him leh). There will be a list of impressive speakers from different background; corporate, bloggers, journalist, etc..

Kenny and Mike are flying all the way from Kuching for this conference. Kenny is one of the speakers, so, he sure have to fly to KL for it. But MIKE purposely come all the way from Kuching for the conference! So, all the more reasons why I should participate also, right? Hahaha.. Well, that’s part of the reason.

The main reason to attend this conference is to brush up on blogging, learn how I can make the best out of the social media, enhance networking and learn business business stuff from Dato’ Sri Tony Fernandes and make more money out of blogs.

One Friday (June 25th), Hik and I went to Stadium Titiwangsa  to collect our race kit for the SCKLM 2010. However, we didn’t get our race kit that day *dem* because of some incomplete registration due to the system problems. So, we had to go back on the next day with the rest.

The week before I left Kuching, I attended the XPAX XPLAY Party by XPAX. It was a great party and it makes me miss Kuching now even more. The people, the parties, the excitement, the Xtraordinary performers and so much more! Kuching is getting more and more happening these days! With events and parties boomings in clubs and hotels, I’m glad I get to attend one of the biggest and happening parties like the XPAX XPLAY Party in Paragon, Kuching before leaving for KL. We arrived early and we had plenty of time to camwhore before the party began. There were Celcom promoters promoting that evening’s promotion:

When we walked in, the stage was the first thing I saw. So X!!

As the VPX pass holder, I can go up to the VIP areas. There were like 2 floors mingle around but I stayed at the ground floor most of the time. More happening and more friends to hangout with ma. Hehe..

From the top floors, we get a more spectacular view and more of the overall view of the party.

 You know there’s a party when you hear overblasting bass and cheers from the floor! The first performance was by Soul Higher!

The night went wild and rocking hard with DJ Monkey and DJ Funkzu (after DJ Monkey)  spinning the night away. There’s also the amazing beatboxer, Shawn Lee who performed too. 

The XPLAY Party gathers not only the people, drinks, music and performances, but also the one night of unforgetable memories…

Since I’m not in Kuching anymore, I’m sure going to miss lots parties and happenings with all these fun and spontaneous peeps! But, I got to know that XPLAY Party  is not only limited in Kuching, there was one in Sunway that Yomi attended on June 19, 2010; which was  a day after the Kuching’s XPLAY Party. Hohohoho… Sure is looking out for more XPLAY Parties. :3
