Bun Confusions

Took these pictures at Cold Storage’s bakery last month. The pastries’ names are really unique. I know I’m very wu liaw (lame) but I still want to share with everyone.

Sarcasm #1- They named the donuts, Strawberry Dounat. It’s filling is dark purple in color, so I bought one to try. I’m quite upset because it’s not strawberry but blueberry.

Fact – Strawberry donut finish already, so they replaced it with blueberry but they didn’t get a new card for it. The donut is bigger than Big Apple’s 1.5times! Cheaper some more.

Sarcasm #2 – They named the red bean bun, Sausage Bun, meanwhile the sausage bun, Red Bean Doughnut.

I bought the Red Bean Doughnut to try since the red bean *ahem* can be seen. The red bean even looks like a sausage. To my surprised, it didn’t even taste like the sweet red bean I thought it would. Instead, it tasted like chicken sausage. The doughnut shaped ovally not even round. I’m confused.

Fact – They misplaced the cards.

Hey.. I’m pretty bored ok. So I took these wu liaw pichas just to share. No need to report to Cold Storage ya. Later they merajuk, come flame me because I sarcasm about their buns dounats.

It’s better to wu liaw about food rather than wu liaw about things you just heard and not even sure if they are even REALLY THAT WAY. Check on the facts before even posting in your blog. tsk tsk tsk.. Oh yea, a little advice, don’t just listen to one side of the party, you won’t know what ingredients that particular side might add in to make the bun sweet or salty or even sour! End end, the donut become dounat or strawberry become blueberry or Sausage Bun become Red Bean Doughnut or Red Bean Doughnut become Sausage Bun.
