AirAsia has added Da Nang, Vietnam back into its list of extensive route network. AirAsia is the only airline to operate direct flight connecting Kuala Lumpur – Da Nang and is the third destination to Vietnam from Malaysia, apart from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
We were among the 180 passengers (full flight load) on board the inaugural flight which took off from Kuala Lumpur on 29th August 2014 at 1135hrs and we arrived Da Nang at 1330 (local time).
The flight duration is 2 hours and 55 minutes. Time flies when you’re traveling with friends and it was a great catch up session inflight.
Upon arrival, our flight was given a grand welcome with a water salute. Mr Tran Chi Cuong (Vice Director of Culture-Sport and Tourism Department of Da Nang), Mr Nguyen Ba Quan (Vice President of Da Nang International Airport) and Mr Nguyen Thanh Vu (Vice President of Da Nang Terminal Operation) were present to welcome guests from the inaugural flight including AirAsia Berhad’s Head of Commercial, Mr Spencer Lee who was also on board the flight to celebrate this occasion.
AirAsia flies 4x weekly to Da Nang from Kuala Lumpur with flights every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.
